Arniel's MIA for next part quest Help please Pc version skyrim anniversary edition /special edition

[Elf On A Hook]

so after stage 3 of Arniel's Endeavor quest "3.3 Part three – Dwemer Convector" but before 3.4 Part four – Keening went to find Arniel Gane . he isnt anywhere literally in the college winterhold or sarathal or winterholds inn (or walking anywhere) ive tried googling and wiki various commands to player.moveto Prid or such and nothing works i keep getting invalid comands so can anyone tell me how i can find or resurect him if i cant find him alive or his body anywhere . hate to cheat command but can not complete quest w/o him to give me next step so frusterating to say the least . i welcome any advice truly thankful if anyone knows what or how to find him

Console commands aren't really cheating, but they do have a tendency to break your game
if you mess with the commands for quests and resurrect/recycleactor commands.

is there anything i can do to get him back or finish quest since otherwise its bugged legit and all hopes gone .

Is the quest arrow not showing up? Highlight the quest name then hit "M" to load your map. If he's alive and the quest isn't totally glitched, his location or the location the next encounter is supposed to take place, should show up.

yea im on pc and no quest marker , so i figured he died some how when i wasnt around ? no dragons have attacked the college yet at least when ive been there but its highlighted and maps open nothing shows sadly

He is essential, so he can not die.
Likely he just got lost, so maybe try the console command to move yourself to him, make an extra save before doing so of course.

typed player.moveto 0001C19D says invalid object reference compiled script cannot be saved typed Prid 0001c19d typed Prid 0001c19d moveto player says same thing :(

the other reason maybe no quest marker is i finished the 3rd step in Arniel's Endeavo quest and was in process of waiting several days so that i could speak to him and start the Keening part of next quest but he isnt anywhere to be found . sorry but i really apreciate you helping alot

i got it , the ref source was wrong on several pages . i typed Prid 0001c1ab hit enter then typed moveto player and he spawned on me . super sorry i tried all day find this and guess was using ref id on sites that were incorrect for pc?
