modded skyrim - how much space on your drive?

Was irritated to find that that the nexus mods amounted to 55 gig. Then on top of that, when uncompressed another 75 gigs on top. Holding off deleting the compressed files though I can't imagine it being too much of a problem if I remove them.

To think steam says its 14 gigs....

I mean, the base game files are 14gb or thereabouts, why would Steam say otherwise?

As for my personal installed mods, I've got something like 400-450gb, though of course they aren't all active in any given playthrough.

I don't see the problem here.

The base game requires approx 12 GB of storage.
The rest is determined by how many mods you install and of course the size of each mod.

If you're using Vortex to install mods then Vortex also keeps/stores separate copies of these mods for you as well.
