Can someone explain how to install ENB to enable parallax in Skyrim 2020?
I've been playing around with multiple graphics mods and wanted to try Pfuscher's Skyrim 2020 mod, which requires ENB to enable parallax. However, I'm looking at the ENB download page and have no idea what I'm actually supposed to download and install. Can someone help me out?

whichever enb your using. Go to enbseries file and look for EnableTerrainParallax=false and change it to EnableTerrainParallax=true then click on file and hit save. Enb helper should have parallax check marked

I'm not using any that I know of, which is why I was hoping someone could be more explicit about what to install. The mod description just links to http://enbdev.com/news.html and provides no further explanation.

To have the ENB Files and such, you go here: http://enbdev.com/download_mod_tesskyrimse.htm
v0.469 is the latest.

However first you need an actual ENB from the Nexus, do some research on Youtube for ENB comparisons and settle for one you like based on how you want your world to look. Then read that chosen ENB page vigorously as it might say to use a specific ENB Version, if it states no specific instruction on which version to use, that's when you go and download v0.469 and install it

Thank you.

Skyrim 2020 Parallax just says to download the latest ENB from that website to enable the parallax effect, so I'm assuming it itself is an ENB.

You just need the two .dll files from it then go to nexus mods and search for an enb to your liking. Know enbs can eat your fps but having the game to look sexy is worth the fps drops. I personally like to use https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/35082 thou it has a big installment info to use it right and it's worth the trouble. Don't forget you'll enb helper to use enb's https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/23174

I'm somewhat confused now.

Skyrim 2020 Parallax by Pfuscher (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2347) says I need the latest version of ENB to enable the parallax effect. I have installed that, but now everything looks washed out.

The ENB page says this would happen if I didn't have any presets installed, but I assumed that the mod, since it mentions ENB being a requirement for the parallax effect, would have those presets. It clearly does not.

If I install the ENB you recommended, won't that just overwrite the modifications made by Skyrim 2020?

Having the base ENB files alone won't give you what you want, in this case, the Parallax effects.
You'll need a preset.
If you don't want an ENB then there's a non-ENB option as stated in the mod description:
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/31963

I saw the non-ENB option, but recent comments say it doesn't work with AE (game crashes on launch), which is why I ignored it.

I'll look into some presets, then, thank you.

Ah yeah, then that's the dealbreaker, that it isn't compatible with AE. You'll come across that a lot in modding, to see something you really want to have but can't have because of various reasons, incompatibility, author no longer updating and it leads to incompatibility, author removed or hid the mod, might have strict requirements which aren't compatible with something in your load order etc.

I am aware. It's one of the drawbacks of modding we must all deal with. However, only the non-ENB "patch" to enable parallax is incompatible, not the whole mod itself.

Anyway, this whole ENB thing seems like more work than it's worth, at least for the moment (and for me). I'll just make do without any parallax effects. I'm sure I'll survive.
