Steam Workshop
Just wondering why there is no access to Steam Workshop for the Special Edition? Do we have to get all mods from Nexsus?

You can also get them with the in-game mod manager and a bethesda.net account, or with the creation club (paid mods).

Well when I search the workshop by typing "Skyrim Special Edition" I got a bunch of things showing up for me, I did not see anything saying "Denied Access" or something like that. I my self prefer the Nexus mods though over the Steam Workshop mods. So I am not sure why you think you can't get access to the workshop. Good luck though, hope this helped answer your question to some degree.

Skyrim SE does not have and will never have a steam workshop. If you have to go somewhere other than the nexus for your mods you can also use bethesda.net, a site for free mods available from the game menu. There is also Creation Club, a site for paid game content.

Haven't played much of SE, Steam Workshop is displayed in the library for the original edition and not for SE. I did not know it had a built in system, that is why I made this post.

Thanks guys, that clears things up :steamhappy:
the "steam workshop" doesn't exist for SSE. BUT SSE DOES have it's own mod selection that you get download through the game menu.

Amazing necro there, for a question that has been answered a billion times for years, from someone who does not have a mouse icon.

Check Nexus or use this wondrous technology named the search function, or even refer to pinned threads.

Ask yourself this:
"Do you trust Steam Workshop with your load order?"
Answer: Steam Workshop does not even allow you to create a load order.

carry over as in ported to se? you can't just use the same file for se, but many of the oldrim mods are ported to se on nexus or have better mods with same function created, see the pinned threads for better info

No. Steam workshop will try to install to Skyrim, not Skyrim Special Edition. If you have both installed, and manually move them, you may* get some functionality, but they will not be form 44 and the meshes, if any, won't be right. You will end up borking your game. Stick to using SE mods for SE and LE mods for LE.

Wow, I'm surprised by how acidic some of these responses got, towards the end. I hope folks stop having so much stress elsewhere, and start seeing this place (Steam in general) as a place to find cheer, rather than spread unhappiness. I wish ALL of you relaxed joy.

Maybe because people keep necroing dead threads, if you stop posting on threads that have been inactive for ages, then you don't get as many acerbic comments.

Necroing is against Steam "Rules and Guidelines", also this same question has been answered many times.

Maybe you should do literally anything else with your time besides getting this angry over some random dude on the internet that has absolutely no malice and probably no idea that what they're doing is frowned upon. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
