Increase Draw Distance?
Been playing the game for a few hours and I have really been enjoying it, though I'm wondering if there are any mods or something that can increase the draw distance of things like grass and NPCs? I have a computer that can handle it and it would really help making the game even more immersive! Thanks in advance.

Actually there is now a much better way to improve drawing distance in Skyrim SE !

I cant find it right now but I ll try to reply later ths morning.

Edit :

There it is :

Skyrim Special Edition has a new option called Large Object Distance in the launcher settings. It can be found in SkryimPrefs.ini under
[General]
uLargeRefLODGridSize=11

Change 11 to 21. No need for uGrids

Sorry to pick this up again but I looked for my skyrim.ini file and I cannot find it somehow... Where precisely is it located?

I only found SkyrimPrefs.ini and Skyrim_Default.ini, neither of those had a ugrids line in them.

Using win7 here, but you seem to point at the very first folder of the game which should be the same.
In there I only have: Skyrim_Default.ini aswell as a bunch of inis called low, medium, high and ultra.

EDIT: Never mind found it. Thanks!

DynDOLOD. It works with special edition too, apparently (not for me. Don't think it's updated to the last patch yet). Anyway, it makes a world of difference in legacy. It's intimidating to get into, but the difference is worth it for sure.

this doesn't change anything

Increasing your draw distance is generally not recommended since it can break certain quests by loading things (NPCs, triggered events) too far away.

You want grass caches for the grass / landscape: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/articles/6919

And Dyndolod to make trees and buildings look better:

Why is a thread from 2018 dragged up?
you do realise the further out you increase the draw distance, the further away stuff is spawning, including stuff that plays out and disappears forever, like Valdr dying because you don't give him a healing potion.....

1. Necroposting is bad, mmkay?

2. Increasing draw distance is a sure-fire way to wreck your game. Permanently and irreparably. Anyone suggesting otherwise needs to get shot in the knee. Use DyndoLOD instead.

This Alex is right too. :steamhappy:

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
