What is the best race in game?

Try reading the descriptions at the start of the game where you choose your race. It's pretty self explanitory.

Races don't make that much of a difference in this game though.
I always choose high elf male because slightly higher drawscale = slightly faster move speed ;)

for archery, wood elf. but racial skills aren't that important in skyrim, so it's more of an starting advantage. you could make a stealth mage orc, if you want.

each race starts with different perk levels, but at late game it doesnt matter. Only real difference between races are the npc response dialogues and the unique power that each one has.

Always Breton. A +10 to one of you skills at level 1 means nothing when you can level all skills to 100. Passive magic resist will always be useful.

I would say "Breton" due to the 25% resistance to all magic, but it matter so little really, that ability is just OP imo anyway, I just go with the race I feel most immersed in with my style of play and that for me is Wood Elf, because I like sneaky Archer character with some magic tricks but not 100% pure magic using super power, I like a balance between Magic and 1 handed weapon, Magic in one hand and sword in the other, who's main objective is to sneak and attack from Range, the Wood Elf I feel best suits this play style in terms of immersion.

If I wanted a heavy armour tank 2 handed weapon character I would play as Orc, if I wanted to join the Stromcloaks I would go with Nord and just immerse myself as a true Nord fighting for my own people.

So really whatever style I feel best fits the immersion of the character I want to build is what I would pick.

Best assassin/stealth = Khajitt or Argonian

The easy mode race has to be Argonian, with the ability to rapidly regenerate health and resistance to disease and poison.

The hardest race is probably going against a race's specialty, like my personal favourite: Wood elf mage.

Pick whatever suits you asthetically. Racial advantages really only make a difference in the beginning. After level 20 or so, everyone is equally kick-ass at whatever you want them to be kick-ass at.
