You're right....it was a hold down...and release the button to stop sprinting.....they seem to have changed it.
Skyrim LE did not have that function.
They added a sprint toggle to SE in place of Hold to sprint.
It totally ruins movement in SE, because you can no longer sprint right after zoning into another area. Now there is a short pause before you can begin sprinting.
It is also difficult to switch to sneak mode if you are auto sprinting. You kind of have to stop sprinting or trying to enter sneak mode will fail to process.
More people need to complain about it, so they give us an option so we can choose which one we want to use sprint toggle or hold to sprint.
Yeah it's pretty annoying change but do you know you can stop sprinting if you press sptrint button one more time... Good alternative to stopping the movement. Well, I don't like toggleable sptrinting, but that's how I stop sprinting in SSE anyway.
It is broken compared to how it was before.
It totally makes movement in the game more mechanical, because you are prevented from performing actions in rapid succession like you used to before they ninja added this unneccesary feature. It is totally immersion breaking.
If people want to continue using a broken game mechanic that is fine, but there should be a setting to switch it back to hold to sprint for those of us who have a problem with it.
Yes, because that would require the game being able to process two commands at the same time. A bit much to ask of a game engine in the 21 century. ;)
The game has allways ben a bit.... german in the way the movement and combat controlls work.
"Ve want you to do it in ze right order und with ze right timing, understood?"
