Flickering FIX for Nvidia users!
The problem seems to stem from SkyrimSE wanting to run on your Intel card, rather than your Nvidia processor. There are two ways to get around this, try FIX#1, and if it dosnt seem to match up to what you are seeing, try FIX#2 (a little bit longer, but has the same results.)

EDIT: This is an old post, however it appears that me from three years ago forgot to mention that this issue happened on a laptop, not a desktop. Specifically, the CPU had intergrated graphics, and it was using that rather than using the GPU.
These fixes may still work on a desktop set up, but the issue could also be due to mods. Try running it without mods and see if the flickering goes away.

FIX#1: On Steam go to your SkyrimSE and right click it. Go to Properties, then Local. Browse Local FIles (I believe it is called anyways) to pull up your SkyrimSE directory.

Find SkyrimSE.exe and right click it, go to Run With Graphics Processor, then click on the bottom tab Change Default Graphics Driver.

After the Nvidia Control Panel loads (its a little slow sometimes) go to the part marked as "2. Select the preferred graphics processor for this program:" On the pull down tab, select your Nvidia driver, NOT the Global Settings. For me it was titled "High-performance Nvidia Processor".

Simply select apply, then return to your SkyrimSE directory. Right click on SkyrimSELauncher and follow the steps above again. Congrats, you can finally play Skyrim how it was ment to be played!

FIX#2: If you tried the first fix, but when right clicking on SkyrimSE.exe, the section Run WIth Graphics Processor wasnt listed, then this should provide a work around. Search on the Start menu for Nvidia Control Panel and wait for it to load. On the left side of the control panel select Manage 3D settings. Near the middle of the screen click the Add button. You will have to navigate your way to your SkyrimSE directory (whereever you installed it). Select SkyrimSE.exe and click Ok.

On the second section's pull down tab, select your Nvidia processor, do NOT choose Global Settings. In my case, the processor was called "High-performance Nvidia processor". After that simply click apply, then select Add again. Back in your SkyrimSE dirctory, select SkyrimSELauncher. Follow the steps for the next section again. Congrats, now you can play Skyrim the way it was ment to be played!

I apologize if I dummed that down too much, I just wanted to make sure everyone was able to fix their game without too much confusion. Plus I dont usually do these kind of things. But hey, I found a way to fix the game, might as well share it wtih my fellow Skyrim fans. If you have any questions, please let me know, I will do what I can to help.

Do you have a Nvidia processor? If not it may be AMD, which seems to require a diffrent fix that is yet to be found.

latest 37x.xx drivers are crap for my 980GTX SLI
loss of fps
overbright effect
flickering sli
all those were gone when I rolled back to older drivers 353.62 in my case (the oldest 980gtx supporting ones)

Didnt think of that. I suppose rolling back your drivers, and the reinstalling the update, could potentally fix this. For both Nvidia users, and AMD. Did you reinstall the update, or did you keep it rolled back?

This worked for me. I was so worried when I originally tried to get the game running and it set me to low settings and was having trouble running even with that. Now it is much better at a much higher setting.

Thank you.

Yea I had the same concern. I can run the Wither 3 on ultra 50-60 fps, but not Skyrim? I was dipping to 20fps on low quality. After I fixed it, I was back up to 50-60 fps on ultra.

yes, so dont ever let your drivers autoupdate again, latest is NOT always better anymore.
i usually did it only when it was needed for a new game.

Well, I wouldnt put it that way. Please dont make this thread hostile, I am tyring to help people.

Intel cards seem to be incompatiable with SkyrimSE, however a fix may be coming in the form of a mod, or even an update. Keep an eye on the Nexus.
