Something tells me the gamma settings for night are a little too high.

I tried a mod once that was supposed to make night time super dark and forced you to use lights, unfortunately something broke and I had to re-install Skyrim at the time, but point is we might need a mod to fix this.
That's still too bright. (just my opinion).
Nights should look like nights with only the lights from fires and torches making any illumination.
In which case, the two moons would provide a more realistic ambient environmental effect.
But for nights without any moons overhead, the stars of Aetherius should be brilliant still providing some faint illumination in places where there are no other light sources.
I think somebody borked this one.
I agree completely that its too bright - I was of the same mind back then, especially when I was thinking back to the days of oblivion being attacked by a troll in a very dark cave.. lol..
Imagine you're looking up into the night sky and suddenly a dark figure blots out the stars ...
that's .... scary especially if it's growling.
Yeah I know right ? xD
I had quite a few scare jumps back when oblivion came out because of those trolls >_>
