It does take a long time though, much like one/two-handed or light/heavy armor---just crouch alot and it will keep increasing.
Leveling up the sneak skill goes pretty fast though.Some of the perks are quite powerful. Combining sneak with archery is a good way to create a specialized archery.
A sneak character can become overpowered. Especially with the aid of enchanting.
I actually made the mistake to enchant apparel to improve sneaking and invest in all the sneak perks. The problem was that I became almost invisible which sort of took the fun out any enemy encounter.
Thanks, just using the crouch method while not attacking feels like it's taking forever (it has taken a few hours already - I am estimating about 5-7 hours at least so far and at level 87 right now)
All you have to do is find Maiq or go to the Greybeards and then sneak attack them with a low damage weapon.
If you use the thief stone + the lovers stone stored on the aetherial crown + sleeping bonus you can level up sneak very quickly.
