New Fix found for black screen with mouse trail (no video)
Recently tried the new special edition
The original works fine, but the new one resulted in:

1. 2D Logo fades in and out with drums okay
2. Main menu comes up
3. There's the menu items to click on, but no 3D skyrim logo
also the mouse leaves a trail everywhere on screen

What I discovered is that it was picking up the wrong graphics card
The laptop I'm using a Nvidia N55SL has a sort of second display for the external hdmi connector

To fix it, it's just a case of using the Nvidia Control panel to specify that the exe should use a specific graphics card

1. Open Nvidia Control Panel
2. Click Manage 3D Settings
3. Program Settings tab
4. Select the skyrim exe / Launcher exe
5. instead of Auto detect, specify that it uses the Nvidia device

If you have both an integrated GPU and a dedicated GPU in the same PC, it could still be the same issue regardless of what card you have.

As a side note, people really need to learn how to shut off their unused onboard hardware from their BIOS. It's just good practice in general.

yeah i dont know how to do any of that :D

I just want to leave a big "THANK YOU" searched for about 2 hrs and finally found the solution. I hope more people with this issue find this thread.

I do not have an NVIDIA card.
I do not have an added graphics card.
I use an Intel Core i3 laptop.
My card is Intel HD Graphics 3000.
What the hell do I do.

you seem like a smart person, my game just does the fade in and out logo and then just exits the game and deletes itself from my taskbar

i use AMD, to fix this issues, go to Catalyst Control Center, go to Gaming section, then got o Swicthable Graphics Application Setting, then find SkyrimSE and choose "High Performance" option.

For anyone having this issue who can't seem to fix it through anti-aliasing settings or graphics card options, try deleting your skyrim.ini, I had this problem, and it turned out there were extra archives being loaded that didn't exist in there.
I was having the same issues, I use an AMD card and What i did which fixed it was go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition in my file explorer and delete skyrim.ccc, skyrim_default.ini, and ultra.ini Then i verified the integrity of game files on steam and It's working perfectly now
