The game Skyrim SE is shown in task manager but won't start.
So I click play game in the library, I click play, then I go to task manager and it's there but the game doesn't launch itself, some help for this will be appreciated.

(By the way: please only post on here if you have a solution, because then I can keep track of all the comments on here.

When this happened to me, I was able to determin it was an incompatible mod. For me it was 'Skyrim Book Covers'. All it did was add high res textures for books in game. But once i deleted that mod, Skyrim started right up.

So I had the same problem. Turns out it was a Mod that was causing the issue as Gene mentioned above. I've only downloaded mods through Bethesda so far but I did go ahead and download Mod manager from Nexus. From there I was able to disable my mods/plugins and Skyrim will now launch. From there I was able to enable mods by groups of 5 to determine which mod was the bad apple. Currently still trying to determine which mod it was.

Edit: turns out it was Gifts of Akatosh armor mod.

ha , yes, that one seems to give quite a bit of probs and..as you notice, its wayyy better to use a proper modmanager, its indispensible.
