Co-OP
I know a lot of players, including myself have been waiting and asking if there will ever be a co-op version of the game. With the new version, is there a mode to get there?

Just get Elder Scrolls Online. Skyrim hasn't had any co-op for the 5 years it's been out and it's certainly never going to have co-op as far as I can see unless you want to download the mod that only lets you and your friends see each other and that's it.

That sounds amazing.

ESO is actually quite good, even better now that when you get it you get all of the dlc's included with the gold edition (which came out a month after I got the game...thanks timing...)

Ya, the same time World of Warcraft becomes a open world single player game.

Co-op is something I know a lot of people would enjoy, but I don't think Bethesda is planning on it. I kinda wish they'd allow 2-4 people in their Fallout/ElderScrolls games to play in co-op as I would love to have a smalll group with my friends and just play a Bethesda game with us against the world; but it's not gonna be a thing anytime soon. =\

Keep posting about it on the forums here and Bethesda's website and they MAY get the hint though!

Wrong, wrong, and wrong. Well, maybe for you it's right =P
I know most if not ALL of my friends that play TES games would love to see the addition of just bringing other players in.

We DO NOT WANT a change in the games from a design decision aside from allowing other people to play as companions. Hell, I think most of us would be okay with not having access to customize characters if we could just take over a pre-existing companion. I think a lot of people think that the change HAS to come to a detriment to the style of the games which simply isn't true; assuming Bethesda doesn't go ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crazy and make TES:VI; ESO1.5

What you want is "Tamriel Online", a co-op mod being developed; albeit, for the original Skyrim.

No one is asking for it to become an MMO, just a co-op. 2-players, that's it. The last few mods that tried to do that failed miserably. It's not all that hard. Games like fable pulled it off nicely. You just make player 2 one of your House carls, and bingo. (of course it's much more than that, but you get the idea). It wouldn't 'kill the single player" as the single player already has a house carl as a helper for the player in the first place. So the game already has the mechanic for there being a party of 2 built in.

There have been a couple of attempts to make Skyrim co-op. Tamriel Online (previously mentioned), and other was Nens - 2 Player - Skyrim Coop Mod. They were both pretty buggy, but even as a proof of concept, they were successes. I played Tamriel Online and it was very clear how much of a blast multi-player Skryim would be if the bugs were resolved.

Videos on Tamriel Online are on YouTube. i.e. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OsoD8yt-_J0

Pay no mind to the people touting ESO or saying "Skyrim was not intended to be co-op." They are utterly unhelpful and will make no effort to be helpful.

I am guessing that Skyrim SE's new coding (and in particular memory management), may open up new avenues unavailable to the Tamriel Online mod and the other co-op efforts. I suspect that it would be restricted to the PC alone, but who knows? Also, I would fully expect that you would NOT see a multiplayer mod on Bethesda.net. Look for any progress on Nexusmods and other sources.

It would be cool in a Dark Souls kind of way, but I really wish you people would drop it. Bethesda's response to requests like this was ESO, and it sucked.

Coop is cool...BUT...the focus is really single player. I supose you could have 4 players together but coop games have a different focus and I think it would ruin the game.
Docsprock Nov 5, 2016 @ 2:32pm
I hope it never happens.

This.

You see, I would prefer if the TES/Fallout developers concentrate on delivering the best possible single player experience to me. I do not want them to modify the core of the game for more players to fit in, and to spend resources on that. The time and resources could actually be used to improve the single player game I like so much.

So... No thanks.
Mourdeeb Nov 5, 2016 @ 9:55pm
How is the focus "Single Player" when the game itself has Multipule NPCs that are there to HELP you on your missions as a COMPANION?!? If you're running with a companion, then Co-op isn't that far of a jump....
