Audio directions seem messed up.
People have been reporting a multitude of audio issues, mine is slightly different though.

It seems that the locational audio fades out almost completely if you are looking at the NPC at a certain angle. Sometimes I can hear them clearly, only to turn my head and the voice is almost completely silent.

This was also a problem in the original game, so has anyone found a fix for this issue? Would love to not think I'm going deaf constantly.

Dig through your speaker device settings and see if your speaker configuration is set to 5.1 or 7.1 - If so thats your problem, it seems the game isn't compatible with those surround sound setups. You'll have to change it to a stereo configuation (mine was called 2/2.1 speakers)

This happens to me too, but to a more extreme extent on the regular version of Skyrim. Voices can suddenly cut out and cut in completely in relation to some magic distance and angle relative to my character's POV. The few solutions I've found over the years have had no positive effect in all my 1300 hours of gameplay since release day in 2011.

Took a look at it and my speakers were already defaulted to stereo. I'll keep fiddling to see if anything works though.

If any of you are still having this problem, I tried updating my headset drivers and it worked fine. Seen another guy saying the same solution worked for him. Hope this helps.

Some third party audio programs like DFX Audio Enhancer can also cause the problem. Disable all instances of Dolby surround, DSP modes, and other environment enchancments and see if that fixes the problem.

This issue is as old as the vanilla game. What helped me was installing the Razer Surround software. Just a little program from Razer that helps optimizing real and fake surround audio.

Otherwise, play with your windows and driver audio settings. It's related to the speaker configuration and other things.

I get the same exact thing when using my 5.1 surround sound speakers, but when switching to stereo headphones it fixes it. I think it's worse then original skyrim as SE has lower quality audio files from what I understand.

Game runs in 5.1 for me just fine. This is running over my GPU's HDMI to an A/V receiver in 5.1. I can stand by a fire and track the sound around my room as I move in game.

Same issue, the only time I can hear people is when I'm looking at a 90 degree angle to them.

Honestly, try updating headset drivers. Worked perfectly for me.

Fully up to date Logitech G930, doesn't work. Ended up purchasing G933's (not specifically to fix this issue) and those work perfectly.

So to me, thats proof that the issue is hardware support based on the Skyrim side.
Maybe they don't support Dolby Surround correctly, which is what the G930's are, wheras the G933 is DTS 7.1

What exactly did you do? I have the G933 aswell, and 7.1 doesn't work for me. Neither does Stereo or 5.1.

I can't tell you exactly what but I the G933's are a fricked up out of the box. First thing to do is update the firmware in Logitech Gaming Software, then turn off the 5 minute time out, then make the LEDs solid instead of "breathing" so that you can actually tell when it's on or off, then bind one of the G buttons to a Mute toggle, then goto the "7.1" icon in LGS and check that the slider is over to the right for 7.1. Dropdown 1 = DTS 7.1 qnd Dropdown 2 = Super Stero Plus
