Assuming you didn't save a copy of your save file (Do this after every time you play the game or just create a scheduled task, google this if you don't know how) but you have system restore enabled, you might have a copy still on your computer from before this mess. Right click on your save folder and click on Restore Previous Version... This may be found either in the context menu or in Properties. If there's no previous version then I'm sorry but it seems that you're out of luck.
2.But now choose 'Load'
3. There you will find all your previous saves and the unusable saves have some kind of error description
4. Search for your newest usable save and load it
5. Now you will be able to play again (it can be that you might loose a bit of your effort, but you won't have to start a new game either
I was lucky only one save was an error file. I hope you're lucky as well ^^
Well, that is a you problem. Save more.
