I enabled Debug logging and found the following:

[10/29/2016 - 05:01:39PM] Papyrus log opened (PC)
[10/29/2016 - 05:01:39PM] Update budget: 1.200000ms (Extra tasklet budget: 1.200000ms, Load screen budget: 500.000000ms)
[10/29/2016 - 05:01:39PM] Memory page: 128 (min) 512 (max) 153600 (max total)
[10/29/2016 - 05:01:44PM] Cannot open store for class "DLC1testPhilVortexSCRIPT", missing file?
[10/29/2016 - 05:01:44PM] Cannot open store for class "dlc1testPhilVortexTrigSCRIPT", missing file?
[10/29/2016 - 05:01:44PM] Cannot open store for class "dlc1scwispwallscript", missing file?
[10/29/2016 - 05:01:44PM] Cannot open store for class "DLC1TestPhilAtronach", missing file?
[10/29/2016 - 05:01:44PM] Cannot open store for class "DLC2BenthicLurkerFXSCRIPT", missing file?

There's a bug in the DLC files... I verified all my files though.
My GFX card is quite old, but I don't think this seems to be the issue as it can't find some scripts.

Same here. Probably game won't launch on 512mb gfx card. :cgpout:

I've got a 1GB card and I'm still crashing at that point. So I'm not so sure it's a card problem. I'm technically supposed to be able to run the game, but no. No great loss though.

I have the same problem. The game crashes to desktop after the Bethesda logo during launch. It started happening over night, without any changes being made during that time. I then tried to solve it by tampering with mod order, and when nothing seemed to help, I went ahead and did a complete reinstall of the entire game and tried launching it again without any mods present. It still wouldn't let me start the game; it still crashes after the Bethesda logo. :/

Verifying integrity cashes, updating drivers, manually deleting the game folder after uninstall (as well as the documents folder with the .ini file), and disabling cloud sync... All of these things have been done, but no luck yet. No mod or plugin is installed or otherwise active.

Try to disconnect your internet connection.

It's all because of the Creation Club in the main menu. They changed something and it's now displaying news/connecting when you enter the main menu, so If you never used it and/or had crashes before when trying to enter it from the menu, then your game will crash after bethesda logo. IT'S NOT YOUR MODS, DO NOT REINSTALL YOUR GAME OR DELETE ANY MODS. F Creation Club man... :/

To bypass this problem you can:
1. Turn off your internet connection when launching the main menu. You can turn it back on after you load your save game, but do not go back to the main menu with active connection or it will crash anyway (quit the game to desktop when done).
2. Use VPN to change your location.
3. Block the game client in your firewall so it cannot access the internet.

What the living ♥♥♥♥, Bethesda...?

Well, it worked. I unplugged my internet cable, and now the game starts up without any issues. Thanks a lot, but holy hell... :/

You don't have to unplug the internet cable. Just disable it in windows or forbid Skyrim in firewall.

Wondering what's more ridiculous,

The fact they managed to break the game overnight by some silly in-game ads, or the fact that after 4 days they still failed to fix it.

Thanks for the hint about Skyrim making network connection. I wouldn't have guessed so without finding this thread. Just wasted some time looking for issues with recently released nVidia drivers and MS Windows Updates. Finally locking it on firewall did the trick.

I have a similar problem ...
I wonder if they are working on a solution.

If it was a bug inside of the game, they wouldn't bother. However, rest assured they are going to fix this so you can buy Creation Club content.

I'm not affected by the issue. No need to hope. They will fix it as it is a loss of money until they do.
