If you can start a NEW game and that works, but using a save causes it to go dark, you need to "clean" your latest save file(s).
Skyrim Tools / Resaver will fix this.
How do I clean? I haven't done that before.
Hit the "clean" menu and select each of the four cleaning choices in turn.
Save the file overwriting the original.
Launch Skrim and play on.
I have no idea what Resaver is, is that a seprate thing from skyrim all together?
"Skyrim Tools / Resaver will fix this."
Have you tried turning OFF Steam Overlays as well as Nvidia overlays in case you have an Nvidia card?
I don't know... It's definitely a video driver issue. the image is being duplicated and offset. If I had to hazard a guess I'd say there were mods in the load order that require SKSE and were not correctly ported. OR it's time to strip your video drivers completely, and download the current version as a fresh install, Then run through each setting. This isn't game related I don't think. but it COULD be mod related
