Skyrim SE freezes on start screen

yeah im not particularly computer savy but special edition gets as far as the imperial symbol at the start up screen then simply gets stuck there with the music playing in the background. none of the start screen options come up. anyone having same issue or know a fix. very disappointing

ive looked through 6 pages in forum and i appear to be crashing after most people.

specs are fine, game choose ultra high quality when it checked my settings at start, ive tried reducing this but nothing changed

you were right i had a look and loads of people with same problem, no fix as yet

here's the trick that did it for me.
1. go to library
2. rightclick skyrim Special edition
3. properties
4. "search in local files"
5. rightclick SkyrimSE.exe
6. properties
7. Compatibility
8. run in compatibility mode Windows 7
9. back to steam
10. aqgain rightclick skyrim SE
11. again properties
12. click "control integrity of gamecashe. --> it will now check your game and redownload files if neccesary
13. Start skyrim SE via shortcut or steam and it should work

well atleast that is what worked for me, Good luck guys!

easier way was to change my monitors resolution (to make windows bigger) then ran the game in windowed mode. with the slightly reduced resolution the edges of the window were just off the side of the screen so looks like youre playing the game full screen, admittedly with a slight graphical downgrade
