Sound familiar? I believe fallout 4 needed a patch for this same issue. Renaming that particular file results in NO SOUND in the game. so something is ccausing the module to unload and crashing the game. likely a skyrim bug that beth need to patch.

I'm having this problem too, and I got the exact same entry in the Windows event viewer log

how did you solve the issue? did you disabled the tabtip.exe as above?

Yesd, exactly that, also kiolled the process in task manager, as it was still running after i disabled the service, and then i went into the management console and set the service to never start up again.

<Sigh> I am having the same problem on Skyrim with the XAudio2_7.dll. When removing it from the Windows/Systerm32 folder Skyrin runs just fine, but with no sound. I am running Windows 10 and TabTip.exe is not running in task manager. I also changed the settings on TabletInputService which now shows as "stopped" in task manager. I have rebooted several times and I cannot find any tablet service, process or application that is running but Skyrim SE still crashes with XAudio2_7.dll or runs silently without it.

the tablet service is one of many win 10 services running. maybe another service is also running and uses this audio dll and interferes with the game. try turning off some of the unused apps that windows 10 came with - think there are around two dozen.
