I do not get the hype?
I am not some hardcore skyrim fan but i have played this game through several times.

As i understand this edition is better graphics (which can be done by mods right now on the original version)

And xbox1 and ps4 release with mods.

Aside form that it is the exact same game, no difference. Why the hype? I mean if someone wants to throw 60$ away to get a console version that i doubt will ever get the same amount of mod support then the pc does, then go ahead, but it isnt like we are getting anything new?

So why is there hype as if their releasing Elder Scrolls VI in a few hours?

It is more than just better graphics. SSE ads 64-bit support.

I guess it works like this:

Skyrim Original Plus Mods = Yay

Skyrim Special Edition = Yay

Skyrim Special Edition + Mods = Yay + Wow

This game was 32 bit before?!

I can see mods becoming 3x bigger then because now they can use A LOT more ram

People are so desperate for games now they have to rerelease a somewhat decent game to recapture the "HYPE"
(also look up Nintendos Dominos aka the switch)

Pretty much, i will have more fun on the original with mods than a remaster that adds new lighting and 64bit.

Go play it then. lol. I spent 1000 hours in CK modding the original and i'm switching. And i was modding weathers and lighting until 3 days ago. This version will be infinately better in every way, esspecially when modded. Not sure why you don't get that, lol.

You don't know that for sure. ;)

Also I'm not hyped, but I'm excited and many here didn't buy this again it was given for free for owning the original Skyrim + DLC

You got it wrong.
Better graphics are only a side effect or nice bonus so to say.
The real improvement is the enginge itself, probably most important thing would be the 64bit support - thus making the game overall more stable especially when using mods.

Ohh hes just salty that he cannot bring his hoard of a mod folder instantly.

I dont use any graphical mods so I'm just all plus on this one.

Mods can come later, Because apparently you cannot earn achievements if you mod it, I want to 100% this game again.

It's the burden of having a texture mod incompatibility mess. You won't need 5293085429304 texture mods and merge some because of incompatibilities, it's really awful, and it was what i found the worst thing in skyrim modding. This removes that huge mess pretty much completely since as what i've seen so far textures look better or the same than 99% of texture mods.

Indeed. May I direct everyone to take a look at the S.T.E.P. guide, and realize that most of it becomes unnecessary from the get go thanks to SE?

I did the STEP once, it took me 8 hours.

Game looked beautiful, ran.... well ran kinda ok.

Honestly can you blame us? A lot of the games I looked forward to have been total garbage, No Mans Sky and Mafia 3 hit some of us hard.

Sure thing, i will be playing the superior version with all my mods while you play the version with different lighting that looks like an instagram filter and 64bit. :)
