Can anyone think of a reason I don't get the rested bonus when sleeping?

It doesn't matter which bed, I tried many, even the inn. No rested bonus. Even the ones at guilds, Breeze home, and bedrolls. Is there a mod that might interfere with this?

But it always says "Your beast blood prevents you from restful sleep" or words to that effect. The OP would have that come up if he was a werewolf.

Good point, but I was thinking what if he has a mod that turned that stuff off? Or if he has his hud off

This is also a possibility. Pretty much everything you do is skyrim is a quest. Sleeping technically is a quest. Its called playersleepquest lol.


nearly every scripted activity is a quest internally. Its possible that a previous execution of a script didnt complete properly. YOu can only have 1 instance of a quest active at one time.


This can be fixed by opening the console . type help playersleepquest to get the quest id. It should be 000fc1a2(but if yours is different use yours.)

then type stopquest 000fc1a2(press enter)

then type resetquest 000fc1a2(press enter)

If OP is a werewolf, has the lover stone ability or has a HF adopted child, there should always be a message if the (well) rested bonus will be granted or not. Either another mod may be interfering or (part of) the HUD is hidden.

Using the console in this case is of no use at all, as the quest has only one stage (0 = startup stage) and the quest will automatically be stopped once the player wakes up, and starts when the player goes to sleep. BTW, the quest ID will always be 000FC1A2 as the quest is part of Skyrim.esm which always has load order number 00. Also, the console command resetquest uses the EditorID (PlayerSleepQuest) and not the FormID.

That's it , I have chosen the Lover's stone. Thanks for clearing that up for me. I didn't know it would do that, but I guess it is to prevent too many advantages for leveling up.

It's the internet. Gender neutral. If the price for that is everyone addressing you as a guy then I'm happy to pay that price. I also don't mind being called dude or mate :D

Actually aint the children one a separate buff? I remember getting the well rested/lovers embrace along with the father/mothers love. Of course this also requires staying at the house that has the children, The game has a dozen houses you can own and yet you are only allowed two children, lol.
