Uthgerd the unbroken brawl bug

Im trying to hire uthgerd as a follower and start doing a brawl with her. after like giving her like 3-4 hard hits (using fists only) she draws her sword and starts swinging it at me. thus making me have to use the Bend will shout to make her stop it. i try again and the same thing keeps happening. any way to fix this bug? this never happened in my last playthrough

Also, make sure that you are not wearing armor that has a cloak effect, as that will be perceived as hostile and trigger an armed attacked as opposed to a brawl.

im not wearing any armor that has that ability. wearing only deadric armor

and no mods that give it a fear effect? for some reason I am getting a tingle in my memory of some mod or other doing that.

Sorry, just shdn't go around punching women. Can anyone blame her for pulling out a sword to defend herself against such a brute what belts her with 3 to 4 hard hits?

Joking apart, brawling is often bugged and for that reason and reason alone I rarely do it. Even to get a follower. One time I did get Uthgerd I was completely underwhelmed by her, but she's not as bad as that one in Riften who keeps banging on about her old man and gloating about intimidating blokes into soiling themselves.

However, we all need to try each potential follower at least once so I would suggest an earlier save before waltzing into the BM and starting a bar brawl. It worked for me, years ago...

Not to sidetrack but getting a weird bug with Rolf Stonefist Brawl (Windhelm) where I fight him normally (it takes my 100 gold) but doesn't give me the winnings. Instead he says something like "Yeah I will take care of it" when he gets back up.

Not looking for help or advice, just mentioning it because it's something I haven't seen in all my 8k hours. Also saw a (new to me) Interaction between Balgruff and Avenici telling him about the sword adreiene wanted to make him.
