I killed Paarthurnax and Arngeir is fine with it
From what I understand from previous playthroughs and UESP, if you kill Paarthurnax Arngeir should not help you organize a peace council. However, I killed Paarthurnax, and although Arngeir says I'm not welcome there he says he's fine with organizing the peace council, because it's what "Paarthurnax has decided," even though he's dead. WAD?

Don't know why anybody ever kills Paarthurnax. The Blades are monumental morons, and I always tell them to **** off (I use the mod "The Paarthurnax Dilemma"). I don't know why anyone would kill Paarthunax on those idiots' orders. Besides, I always play through the Civil War, so there's no need for a peace council to be organized. All killing Paarthurnax does as far as they're concerned, is to get to recruit new Blades members for them. Woop-de-doo.

It's simple, the majority of the people who decide to spare Paar haven't dug into the lore about what Dragons truly are and conveniently ignore Paar's own words about what having a dragonic soul is like.

Add to the fact that Delph is supremely unlikable and its not surprising people doom future generations of man and mer in favor of false mercy.

As for the truce, that's just a leftover of Beth's laziness and trying to force people to play the civil war after cutting it from the main questline.

In my case it's mostly for roleplaying reasons and to have some variation and not do the same thing every playthrough. Was actually looking forward to being forced to end the civil war, but I guess I'll just pretend the Greybeards are actually mad at me for killing their leader.

I can understand the role playing reasons that said you wouldn't even have that conversation with Delphine if it weren't for Paarthurnax ... that said some chick hiding for the Thalmor telling me what to do that will be the day
I only him killed once years ago. I regreted it. Blades are dumb and useless. Need them to get dragon souls? Just walk around in skyrim- i always find one randonly flying and being a ♥♥♥♥ to harmless animals like how giants hulk smash them into the sky.

I did not even know you could kill him before you finish the main story.

Reason 1: Even Partysnax says he struggles with not wanting to kill everything.
Reason 2: Partysnax is still a murderer, and letting him free is not providing justice to his victims.

Now if you want to talk about gameplay reasons, one shouldn't due to the fact he can alter your signs somewhat.

But lore wise, he should die.

Lore? You're the ******* Dragonborn! The Blades don't dictate to him/her what to do. The Dragonborn has helped them plenty. Paarthurnax is one of the extremely few friendly dragons in the game. I would think that the Dragonborn would be grateful for a dragon ally, regardless of his past. Dragons....as well as people....can prove their worth by helping undo the evil. And Paarthurnax should be given another chance by the fact that he is helping to defeat Alduin. The end justifies the means, and all that.

I love The Paarthurnax Delimma mod for this reason. It was so satisfying telling the Blades where they could go.

Wrong, dragons are immortal spirits made flesh, and unlike the mortal races they don't have free will and can not change the nature that is only strengthened within his soul every time his name; "AMBITION OVERLORD CRUELTY" is spoken in the divine tongue. Or have you forgotten what the Dragonic language really is and what it's effect on reality itself is?

That's one of the reasons that the Dragonborn has to belong to one of the mortal races, the dragonic soul made mortal has both the free will and power Big A needs to bring balance and delay, not defeat Alduin.
