I lost all my items on a dead follower and i'm not sure what to do to get it back?

I had Belrand as a follower and he died while i was fighting. I left his body in the dungeon and came back for my stuff but it was gone. I hate the concept of using console commands but i did to try and get the stuff i worked for back. It didn't work he resurrected with nothing then i tried teleporting to him in case he was somehow alive and it brought me to where his corpse was. I even checked the clean up cell. Finally in a desperate i checked all the catacombs for his body and nothing any suggestions or should i give up?

You need to go back to a save made before they died. And, if you don't have one, you at least must go back to a save made before you used any console commands and just accept the fact that the goods are gone.

Belrand may not have his own house but he might count as a citizen of Solitude. If so, the Hall of the Dead might have his casket or urn where your equipment may be found.

I've had the same thing happen to me. I accidentally killed my follower and couldn't get back to her. I learnt that you strip the corpse as soon as you can if you want to keep your stuff or you've lost it.

If there's particular stuff that you'll really miss - such a particular daedric weapon etc you can always player additem in console.

Save often, and make them manual saves, quick and autosaves get overwritten...

command resurrect 1 can resurrect npc with same items back. if there is no uniqe quest items on him its no big deal.

I think there has to be a body to resurrect? In this case the corpse has gone. Unless you try Prid, I guess.

on body yes. other like prid, recyclector gonna reset npc. but you can go to coc qasmoke and take items from there...

Safer to load a save from before they died than to resurrect them.... Recycleactor is safer than resurrect, but still not as safe as loading an older save.

See, Alex, we can post all we want, and people just ignore it and continue to post bad advice. But then, that is why there are Pinned Topics, so we don't have to post the same things 100's of times, and why we also have a list and description of who and what is and constitutes a Reliable Forum Regular - too bad so many people ignore all that, too.

No one reads xxx... - well, then they deserve whatever they get, now don't they? If people are too brainless not to read what is needed, then even helping them in the forum will be useless. And not directed specifically at you Von Faustian, as this applies to a lot of the
other Old Farts as well, people who say "No one reads the pinned topics, anyway" are a big part of the problem - what they should be emphasizing, is that people SHOULD be reading the pinned topics.

(And yes, you guessed it, I'm having a cranky day today! So please don't take it personally Von Faustian or Turtleswatter; I would normally still post the same, but be be more diplomatic about it.)

EDIT - And then you have the people who really have no clue, and no, I would not be more diplomatic as far as they are concerned! Because, they don't have a clue and are insisting they do and therefore deserve no leeway.

mods are execution of console commands codes one way or another. many mods also are doing the same things called cheats. for me was always far more safe to execute console command then to bother with mods to achive same results and with that in mind you dont need tons of compatibility patches...etc. like exemple why i would bother to use auto recharge weapons for follower if i can make bat file with same result that 100% works with no side effects. but mod needs few conditions to work got bugs report and for some dont even work. bad advice? i read so called ''gurus'' then some guy dare to say, no do not do it. and i was thinking why not lisen to him. and since then i never got more stable game.
