The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition

Who is your favourite child to adopt?
Let say, every child in Skyrim is not different except for their background and story. So, whats your story about this? Found something that unique (pet, behaviour, etc)?

i always adopt the girl in whiterun and the girl in windhelm.
feel an affinity to them each play through.
Ah, I see. Lucia and Sofie. They maybe all time favourite for every Skyrim player. With sad background, they also adorable.
Sofie the flower girl. Helping out a child who is trying to help fend for herself in the middle of a city where the people are as cold as the environs appeals to me a bit more than the alternatives.
Of all of the character remodel mods that exist out there, I am a bit surprised that no one gave her an Aeris/Aerith Gainsborough outfit yet, though.
Sissel in Rorikstead.
She gets bullied all day by her twin sister who is about a couple minutes older and both are abused by their father.
So I do away with her father, leave her sister to the orphanage and adopt Sissel to give her an abuse free life.
Just to pop my thoughts in.

The various lads you can adopt have a reasonably good life, yes they are working, but then so are a number of the kids with families, and they have a regular source of food, bed and even some coins to spend.

It's the girls who are in dire straits, they are either beggings and one meal away from starving, or being abused.... Which makes it all the more terrible that the biggest bully in the game is Braithe.....

Yes, I adopt this girl too. Both girl, Sissel and Braitte can adopt from orphanage. But when you adopt them, they will forget their relationship.

Yes, the girl from Whiterun, Lucia. She is only begging for her life everyday. When the night come, we usually find her at inn but after midnight she is out and sleep near the inn.

Same with Sofie, we will found this girl sleep near the house of Calixto. Imagine with cold weather at Windhelm. Very terrible.
During my first playthrough a dragon attacked Riverwood. We fought it off of course and I went about my business. When I returned, I found that Alvor and his wife had been killed by the dragon and Dorthe was orphaned.

Now I play with a mod called Run for Your Lives which causes the adults to go inside so this shouldn't happen.

I adopted Dorthe in that playthrough.

Now I adopt Lucia from the weeds behind the bar, and Sofie from selling flowers in Windhelm.

There is a mod out there for an enhanced orphanage that you can upgrade by purchasing additions.

I like the idea that I can adopt but also support the orphanage with funds made by sales of looted Thalmor.
I rarely adopt anyone. The collector in me isn't satisfied with only being able to have two. And my understanding is even mods that raise the adoption limit don't let you adopt them all.

Besides, while I've don't usually get too extreme with roleplaying characters, the kind of characters I generally play are probably too selfish to do something as charitable as adopting a child.

You are limited to two children per home, some mod homes are buggy in this regard, but that's ten children as a minimum, and I'm pretty sure people can recommend mod houses that work with the multiple adoption mods.

I was under the impression that you're limited to two children total, unless there's a mod I'm unaware of that allows children to live in multiple houses.

Then again, maybe I'll have to get Hearthfire Multiple Adoptions sometime and just get the four that live outside the orphanage. Living at Honorhall post-Grelod is probably at least as good a life as living with an adopted father too busy adventuring to come home most of the time.

Yes there are mods that allow you to do more adoptions, which you yourself refer to...

If you have a mod that allows you to do more adoptions, then you can put two children per house, which is five city house and three hearthfire houses, plus any mod houses that are compatable...

Same exact scenario for me a few years back. I always wanted Dorthe as a follower after that but you're right, mods are keeping her parents alive in my games and I'm fine with that. Can't have it both ways.

Edit: for realism these mods should have a percentage chance that town folk would be killed. Sure it makes sense they would run inside, but in reality there are no guarantees.

I wish Alvor would teach her how to make the sword she wants to make. Since children cannot be killed she could of saved her parents and killed the dragon. :P

But yeah, Lucia and Sofie. I only go to Rorikstead to return the goat, or just to have as a fast travel spot to get to other places in that area as its out there by itself. If I never go there I sure don't miss it. I only remember the name of the town because of the song a Bard might sing.
Just adopt Sissel and Hroar from orphan. I don't know they just only play outside when in Proudspire Manor and house in Falkreath. It little bit different when I'm adopt Lucia, Sofie, Alesan, Blaise with their sad story they always bring pet to the house.
