Sorting mod for the chests?

I hoarded a lot of stuff and now it's too hard to find anything in this mess. Is there a mod where you could type in a name and it finds it for you? Or anything like from Fallout 4 where you can actually sort items.

There probably are mods, but I just sort the chest myself. For example I will use one chest for metals and jewels (and any other material for smithing), another for alchemy ingredients (sometimes for cooking ingredients too), another for weapons and armour, another for mages robes and staffs, and a final one for everything else...

Became much easier when I got house mods that gave me enough chests (or the storage wing in a hearthfire house at a push)

You should read the description page, some comments and maybe a guide since that will tell you how to install and what dependencies a given mod has.
