Mod that lets you see the level progress of skills in-game?
It'd be nice to have some visual feedback of how much a skill is levelling while I'm playing the game. Does something like this exist?

Im just going to assume you mean you want some visual clue on the screen when your just running around and playing so you dont have to go into the skills screen and check there.

Im also going to assume whats already provided in the game. The message that pops up when a skill levels up, the level up sound and the message that you or a skill have leveled up and the like isnt enough for you.

That being said i dont know of any mods that will add what you want. As most mods that deal with the hud take stuff away from whats shown on the screen. As the vast majority want the huds interface to be smaller, show less information or not show anything or generally hide the hud .

This would be a user interface mod that deals with the hud. I typed hud into nexusmods.com skyrim se page search function. And indeed the vast majority of the mods that came up were interface hud mods that takes away things from the hud, or makes the hud less visiable or othrwise change the look of the hud. elements . There was only 1 mod that added something to the hud.It was hud widgets that tell you what skills you had currently equiped. I.e the current shout you have equiped. etc.

I dont know if there is a mod that will do what you ask. Most take away things from the hud. NOt add them.

I am only able to suggest going on nexusmods.com skyrim se page and search the user interface section of mods, gameplay section of mods and possibly miscellaneous. Maybe theres something.

Why would you want a bunch of status bars clogging up your screen?

It's called the "Tab" button.

it gives you the information though YOu can go to the the skills screen and check rather fast and easily. Also What I infer you want is already in the game to.

IF im correct you want to know how skills are doing when your running around and playing the game so you dont have to go into the menu.

This already exist in the form of every single time a skill levels for example one handed skill. Every time it levels up you get a message on screen saying one handed skill levling up and you see your exp bar move aswell.

What you want already exist. Its part of the vanilla game.

OP, the game already has what you're talking about. If you press Tab, and select your skills, a bar is shown beneath each individual skill. That bar shows the skill's level progress.

I'm aware. Just wondering if there's anything like what every1hasnames is explaining.

Yeah, but I want to see the exp bar of said skill as it goes up. This is the case for Alchemy, Enchanting, and Smithing. Enchant, smith, or make a potion, you can see the bar go up until the skill advances. I'd find it useful to have something like this for other skills, like one-handed and magic skill trees, stuff that takes forever to level up.

well like i said. the vast majority of mods that deal with the hud which what your talking about is with the hud. The vast majority take way not add. Theres not much call for what you are asking.

Im not saying it doesnt exist. I dont know every single mod thats been made for the game. I will say however if it does exist. YOu are more likely to find it by going and searching nexusmods.com skyrim se page then asking here.

Your the first person ive seen ask for this. So its not to likely if a mod that does what you ask exist that someone who knows of it will reply to you.

Again i suggest starting with the mod categories i mentioned in my first reply.

oh and while nexusmods.com is the most popular website for mods for games. It is not the only one. If you cant find it there you can try googling for other websites that offer mods.

Some modders for example have there own websites.

i love the staggering amount of people who think they got the answer, and it's "bro just press tab and check the skill exp bars DUH!" when that's not at all what he's asking about lol

I want the same thing he wants and like the first guy said there doesn't seem to be alot of mods that add that, rather take things away instead, which is a shame

What i was looking for was a widget that adds a live skill progression bar down by health, stamina and magicka bars that shows the progression in real time as you use a skill so you don't have to interupt your game by checking your skill progression constantly just to see your skill progress only a pixel through the bar.

This was something I was looking for when I was seeking out a HUD mod too. I didn't stumble across one that had it at the time I built my lil modlist. I ended up settling on one called moreHUD, as it had everything else that I wanted at the time.

Now however, I don't think it would benefit things too much and end up more as excess clutter during combat, especially with a better understanding of how most skills gain XP. And most of the non-combat skills, show the xp bar in their respective menus too. Which left sneak, and a few of the magic categories to keep eyes on.

A lot of the problem I had initially, was that I wasn't actually meeting the criteria that the actions had for gaining XP often enough for them to level at a decent rate. Avoiding many attacks, missing the enemy with spells, casting spells when they wouldn't have an actual effect, sneaking when nothing was around, etc. Once I understood what was going on, skills I use commonly began leveling up quick enough that I didn't really feel the need for status bars being displayed anymore.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
