Finding lost followers
Most people will know how to find lost followers but I found this great post on Fandom by an unknown user....It is brilliant and completely safe....................

"This is helpful to know when an NPC becomes "lost" so you can use the "prid <refid>" command and "moveto player" to instantly have the NPC at your side. There are some external guides or lists for ref ids, but if you only have one PC it may be a pain to access them. Plus, they typically show only the vanilla NPCs and won't have info on NPC mods like Inigo, Vilja, Sofia, etc.

The answers previously provided in this thread keep refering to the base id, not the ref id, and contrary to one reply, the base id WILL NOT work with the prid command. The originator of the thread did a good job of explaining this, but it seems the ones posting replies either didn't pay attention or didn't really know the difference. A suggestion: before posting a reply, try it in your own game to see if it works. Kudos for trying to help.

The solution is to type the following command in the console:

save funclist 1

This will minimize your game windoow (not CTD) and bring up a text document in your default text reader (typically Notepad). The text document has IDs for a ton of stuff in YOUR save game, so if you have custom or stand alone follower mods installed they will be included. Use the Find command (Ctrl F) to search for the NPC name. You may need to search twice, because the first entry found will probably be the base id. But if you search a second time it will take you to the next entry of the NPC name which should show the ref id.

Once you have the ref id written down (or memorized, if so inclined), then you can simply click on the Skyrim icon on the Task Bar and resume your game right where you left off in the console.

Using the example of Serana, her base id is XX002B6C where XX is the load order for the DLC (usually 02). You can get that much from the help command "help serana 4" but it WILL NOT give the ref id. But, when you view the text file from "save funclist 1" you will not have to guess at or look up the XX because it will already be in there according to YOUR save game. Once you have the ref id 02002B74 from the text file, you can enter the following two command lines and have Serana (or any major NPC) pop up right next to you:

prid 02002B74

moveto player

Incidentally, I tested this command with Serana in a new game where I had not even started the Dawnguard questline, and it still brought her to me. It is important to note that "moveto player" DOES NOT spawn a new copy of an NPC, but moves the one already in existence, including any gear you may have given them."

Use the left column for the ref id.
