If you play ESO, there's a quest where he basically screws you over. He's not actually a dog, but a shapeshifter. I always took his side before, but now I don't feel like crap during playthrough's where I end up killing him.
ESO shows you the dark side of all daedra (possible exception Meridia) you are not the champion of any of the Daedric princes, so they show you there true colors.
