Need help with console commands for Liberation of Skyrim quest
I have sided with the Sormcloaks and am doing the Liberation of Skyrim quest. Like many people, I am running into all sorts of bugs, After the battle at Whiterun, I would not give me the dialogue to report back to the general. I found the console command to complete that and was able to move on to the next battles.

Now I have liberated the Reach and Falkreath Hold and have to report to Ulfric Stormcloak but when I get to him I do not get the dialogue option to tell him what I have done. The quest marker is above his head but the dialogue option is not there (the only options I get are the usual stuff I can ask him).

Does anyone know what the console command for this part is?

Or is there something else I can do to trigger that dialogue option?

Thanks in advance for any help with this.

Disable and enable him would have worked both times, try that, SAVE BEFORE USING CONSOLE COMMANDS!

To do so click on him and type disable then type enable.

If that doesn't work try

SetKeywordDataForLocation 16772 CWOwner 2.

Awesome, that second one did it. Thanks!

I am guessing this same thing is going to happen next time I have to report back after a battle. How can I figure out what the command will be for the individual steps in the quests?

If you have it again try the first command, then check this for possible solutions https://en.m.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Battle_for_Whiterun_(Stormcloaks)#Incomplete_Bug

Hopefully it does not happen again. Console Commands are a developer's tool, not a bug fix mechanic. Yes I use them but sparingly.

The best thing to do like most other problems is to first go back to a prior save, a save just before the problem started, and try again as this fixes many problems. Sure you lose some invested game time but in many cases it's a matter of saving time because if continued use of commands further damages your saves or your game you'll not only have wasted all that time but you'll need to start a new game. How much time did we lose in that case?!

Use console commands with caution, know how to use them, and use them sparingly. And of course, as mentioned, always save before using.

Yeah, I know; using the console commands is making me nervous. I did research all the quests first to make sure there was not some other step in another quest that had to be done first.

I just went through the next liberation battle and reported back to Ulrich. This time the dialogue prompt worked correctly.
