RS Children Dark Face Textures Part 2
I fixed the potato head issue but not the black face issue. I moved the RS Children.esp to the bottom of my load order and it didn't work. THERE IS NO F*CKING WAY TO FIX IT! AT ALL! THIS IS A JOKE! I don't where to get the Skyrim Special Edition Creation Kit. Does it even exist? After all the sh*t I did, nothing worked. Nothing is possible to fix the black face texture. Where is the f*cking creation kit for Skyrim Special Edition?! I do use ENB for the game and that makes the game look good. There are some children not affected by the black face texture. I might as well throw the RS Children mod in the recycling bin along with the compendium patch and any other patches for the mod. If anyone can solve the black face texture, I like to see some proof.

If you have mods modifying the same NPC, children in your case and some of them provide facegen data (most common with visual overhauls) then your load order must match your install order.

Go back to the other thread and watch that SSEedit video someone gave you.
With SSEedit navigate to one of the effected kids. Look at the mods containing (facegen) records and make a note of them.

In your mod manager look up in which order you installed those mods. Then adjust your load order to match your install order.

Stop guessing which mods might be affecting the children this way and confirm it with SSEedit. Custom races and hdt physics will not do that.

I know this is daunting at first. But if you take a breather and calm down you can go from the offspring to the who.

Something has triggered a memory. I think Races of Tamerial Reborn is what is causing the black face. It alters the Race and their attributes to way they were in Oblivion. You think Bethesda would learn from Oblivion and keep the attributes for the races the way they were in Skyrim. So far when I had the Cellan Race installed it didn't do that None the new races I installed did that. Lykaios race didn't do it too. WICO had that conflict with the RSChildren where potato heads and dark faces followed. Maybe I should delete that Races of Tamerial mod or put it in the bottom of the load order instead of me going into caps rage. I can be salty at times to be honest. :steamsalty::steamsalty::steamsalty::steamsalty:
By the way, those videos will help me from getting another stroke.

Hair replacers for NPC's can also come with facegen data.

I have the KS Hairdos SSE as a plugin. It comes with many hair styles. I don't think it has the facegen data. I can't be sure though. I might have to bumble around with the SSEEdit to make sure it doesn't. The Skyrim Creation Kit doesn't even work. Thanks Bethesda or who made it!

KS Hairdos doesn't come with facegen data. One of nexusmods greatest features is the file preview.

Like with RS children:
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2650/?tab=files
Just below the mod "manager download" button for the first file click on "preview file contents".
You will be presented with a filetree view of everything the mod contains. For RS you don't have to look long to find the facegen data. So if you suspect a mod to contain facegen data look it up ;)

Conclusion: The Races of Tamerial Reborn was conflicting the RS Children and I moved it to the bottom of the load order and the shiny dark potato head came back and I moved the RS Children esp file at the bottom and the black face on the stable kid appeared again. I uninstalled it and went to my save file and it still appeared but when started fresh and it was fixed and Blaise the stable kid looked better and with the RS Realistic Children mod. In conclusion, I had to uninstall the Races of Tamerial Reborn mod which was a shame because I wanted the races to have attributes like they did in Oblivion. If there was a patch for that mod for RSChildren compatibility, I would have been good. Oh well... Thanks though I won't say I love you but you have my gratitude. I may look at that video again how fix mod conflicts and make a merge patch from that weird girl with the VR headset.

Glad you got it sorted out.
For future reference. If you install 3 mods with facegen data (for the same NPC) they need to be loaded in the same order you installed them.
Lets say you have mod A, B and C. You install them in order of A, C, B but in your load order they are A, B and C.
  • install: load:
  • A A
  • C B
  • B C
In this case you would experience the dark faces, because mod C ist the last to load the facegen data, but its loading it from mod B. Because mod B has overwritten the facegen from mod C.
