In game after 5 minutes frames go from 60fps to 1-5 fps
My laptop was fine 2 weeks ago, but within the last new weeks I've noticed some lagging in the game. It sometimes recover, but lately, it just lags and does not recover at all. I've updated my graphics card and have a high graphics card in. Geforce RTX 2070. I've deleted a few mods. I'm unsure if the loverlab mods would have something to do with it?

I'll post my load order below:

The two loverlab mods I've installed recently are
* SexLab Separate Orgasm LE 1.6.7
*♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 2.3

where does this happen?

My eyes went straight to Moonlight Tales. 87 bug reports on that mod page and it can be an FPS killer.

plus you have Birds and Flocks and More Criiters. All that they add to the game are NPC's. Plus Moonlight Tales and when you hit an area known to have FPS drops, say like Riften = big fps drops.

Funny thing is the FPS drops when I’m out exploring Skyrim. But it also happens in the city too. Birds and flocks was fine a couple weeks ago. But I’ve noticed my fan goes crazy after 5 minutes and it feels hot at the back. Which doesn’t make much sense since it’s a brand new laptop

Are you playing with the power plugged in? Some laptops will not function at full capacity if they are on battery - and so you get a BIG FPS hit - like what you describe.

Did you install other mods along the way?

One thing for sure, Moonlight Tales can be a mess, I'm sure can sue it with a lighter load order. But still, over 80 bugs and no responses from the mod author in a few years. Shame too as this mod had a great rep in Oldrim.

I hear the mod "Growl" is great.

Thing is, to remove Moonlight Tales mid game is not recommended. You have to start clean and I mean Clean.

This is the only way to do that. Just follow all the steps in this 2 minute video by GamerPoets.

Also, see this as to deleting mods - most cannot be removed without either going back to a save made before they were installed or, if one is not available, starting a new game:

* SexLab Separate Orgasm LE 1.6.7
This one. Dont use the LE version on SE.

And you should also skip it, it is not that good anyway. It creates more issues then it helps.

Yes, removing mods, especially mods like Moonlight Tales is not a good idea at all. You'll double your problems and have to start over clean anyway.

Yep, I keep it plugged into the power supply while I’m gaming.

Yeah it is a shame, I found there is more features in moonlight tales than growl. Also you can change your werewolf appearance and howl at the moon and pick locks. I gave growl a try, but had to remove it since it was causing issues to some of my other mods.

Thanks for that. I’ll remove that mod.
Vlad 254 Mar 26, 2021 @ 9:11pm
so you removed Growl as well. OK, so if you have more problems, and you very well may, might not be right away but when that happens do not stress or waist time trying to fix it all.
Just use that video and start over.
