Weather Mod Advice
Morning all. Nice easy one today (I hope.) I'm looking to get some solid advice regarding weather mods please.

I've spent the past few weeks getting my mod list ready for a new play through based on my Oldrim list, testing each as I go and looking at new mods as they are released. Everything is great, but I'm unhappy with the in-game weather.

When it rains, it is either really heavy and dark or very light to the point it visually looks terrible (no ENB). Storms are over-the-top with flashes and heavy downpours that last for days in-game. Standard "sunny days" are okay, if a little saturated. I know there are a few different go-to mods for weather and effects and I'd like some advice on what combinations to install please.

For reference, I'm currently using:
ELFX Weathers,
True Storms Special Edition - Thunder Rain and Weather Redone,
ELFX Weathers - TrueStorms Merged Compatibility,
Storm Lightning for SSE.

I'm willing to switch these out completely in order to find a better experience, but I'm not sure where to start as I've never used anything different.

Thanks :)

I use Cathedral weathers atm and I like it a lot ... I tried a lot of mods, but Cathedral is for me where it's at.

The other major Weather mod (which I use) is Obsidian - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/12125

I don't use True Storms and never had - I think it overdoes them. But do use Storm Lightning.

I also use Intrigued ENB - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/18149

That's the combo you see in all my screenshots (except for the Oldrim ones of course).

Ah yes, cathedral weathers. I see a lot of mods marked cathedral and they're usually quality (mountain flowers anyone?) I'll check it out for sure. Thanks :)

I can't recall seeing Obsidian Weathers before, though the seasons sound awesome! Thanks for the link; I'll have a look at this one too.

I'm fairly sure storm lightning was what I was running on Oldrim but I'd have to check first. It was great on Oldrim but seems... excessive on SSE?

I've promised myself I'll stay away from ENB for now but I keep getting that itch haha.

Storm lightning needs to be adjusted through the MCM to get the frequency that you want (the default is - at least for me - way too much).

I think I tried realistic and the default setting and was still overwhelmed.

I'm guessing neither of you are using ELFX's weather then? I'll re-install it this evening and not include it when testing Obsidian and Cathedral.

Personally,I would recommend either Cathedral or Obsidian. Both are very popular and both look good. I originally tried Vivid Weathers, as that was what I used in Oldrim, but I felt it did not translate well to SSE - I dropped it very rapidly.
