MOD resets/reinstalls when switching PC
I installed AH Hotkeys SSE to switch gear with a hotkey. Its really convenient for a mage since I can cast buffs with 1 hotkey, and it automatically goes back to prior equipped spells. I'm kind of addicted to this now. I setup about 4 equipsets. And it works as expected on that PC after I configure it.

Problem: I play Skyrim SE on 2 different PCs, But when I switch to the other PC, I get the message that AH Hotkeys is newly installed (as if it was the first time) in the MCM and my setup is gone. So, I setup my spells again and I'm good for that session. Next day I switch back to PC-A and I'm back to square one.

Once its setup, I can quit the game and go back on the same PC and its all good. The problem is something in the save file gets reset when I switch PCs. This only happens with AH Hotkeys. I have about 45 mods.

What I would guess your JSON file that JContainers is creating, is different between the PCs. You should look at the git hub page and see where the JSON file is created, I am guessing it is PC specific.

Thanks for the lead! Does that explain why it only happens with 1 mod out of 12 that show up in my MCM? Maybe this mod has its own JSON?

Update: I replaced AH Hotkeys with a different hotkey manager. The new one is not as nice but its better than nothing.

No, AH Hotkeys does not have JContainers built in(they could have but did not). You have to download the mod JContainers to create the JASON file for it.

You must have missed those instructions in the Requirement tab on AH Hotkeys page.

I guess were getting down to the trouble your having. Not to talk down to you, maybe your better off not using AH Hotkeys if your not understanding how and why a JASON file works.

Indeed I missed those instructions and it explains everything. I would've passed on this had I seen it. That's too bad because its a great mod.
