iNeed and CC Survival mode. good and bad?
Like the title says. Which one of the two is more, let's say. More optimized. Please keep discussion as civil as you can. So no Bethesda bashing or "oH iTs PaId MoD sO ItS BaD"

I want to hear what you guys think of the two mods.

i have CC survival mode, first it adds hunger, a need of sleep/rest and warmth/cold to the game.. oh and it also disables fast travel and level up only can be done after you are sleeping

armors now has "warmth" value assigned to them to protect you from the cold
any survival mode is fine and good tbh since they add function to already exists beds and foods

but i'll personally recommends any that allows you to fast travel...
it's hellish to walk from riften to castle volkihar..

I personally prefer Ineed, Camfire and Frostfall everything is configurable with an mcm and it's far more user friendly .... also Ineed doesn't need that many patches in case of unknown food (mods) it just asks what it is (food, drink and how to classify it). Yes it's 3 mods instead of one , however if you want a mcm ... extra mod, unofficial patch, patches for clothing and armor mods, etc. CC Survival without add-on and patches is FAR inferior to the 3 mods I mentioned.

Not being able to fast travel does sound not too appealing for me

I've played with the 3 mods you mention yeah and I agree. It is much more accessible with my being able to configure to my liking.
I never personally played with Surival mode but is looking to try it. Although the inability to configure the settings to my liking does give me doubt.

ye its not. it may be interesting to try it out the first time but it gets tedious, boring and horrible to have to walk from one side of the map to the other. Frostfall is very customizable and doesn't force to disable fast travel.

yeah i am personally using a mod that enables fast-travel on cc survival
also i forgot to mention that cc survival mode also halves your carry weight
the carry weight does increase by 10 pts per level, either use follower for hauling loots or enchants equipments with carry weight effect

Disabling fast travel is the best part of survival mode, IMO. Fast traveling is just ruinous to the sense of immersion. Zipping around the map every time you need a different merchant to sell to, whenever on a whim you want to change standing stones, it just starts to trivialize everything and make the world feel small and uninteresting.

Meanwhile it adds an interesting planning aspect, routing your quests by location and preparing for each excursion away from your player homes. And it creates value in having multiple homes. And the carriages and ferries still work, by the way.

You can debate that ... I mean if quests send you all over the map twice ... traveling gets boring even if you take the cart most of the way. I mean it should be an option (standard) as in frostfall NOT forced.

understandable and i can respect that. the keyword here is "in your opinion".

having the option to disable/enable fast travel is always nice as not everyone is willing to dive into this level of immersion of having to walk/plan your route. while this can be bypassed by using carriages, some may want to directly fast travel to a certain point. I've tried this years ago when frostfall was first released. enjoyed it for a time and got tired of it. so yeah. for OP, option is there. enable/disable it if you want. your game, your rules.

yes, but at high level it can become quite ridiculous... once i got assaulted by a forsworn then a dragon and dawnguard (my char is a vampire) join in when im on the way to markarth
and since i'm on legendary diff all of them are packing their best gear

This is interesting to read the different takes on playing a Survival playthrough. I've only tried it once maybe twice I'm not 100% sure because they were not long playthroughs at all. So I have not really done a deep dive into it.

What I take away from these posts is "choices", choices are great. Whatever suits the player.

Fast travel in survival can be tricky, as when you arrive after the fast travel, you character will be tired and hungry, making it hard to go adventuring right away
I use carriages and boats when I want to travel far away, but my character usually has to spend the night, rest and then go on

CC Survival has some issues, like some foods have ridiculous satisfaction rates, making you to have to eat 100 red apples to be full, or a well known bug that makes your character to stop regenerating stamina, forcing you to reload the game
Also there aren't as many vanilla solutions to cold, there aren't coats or overcoaks, to put on, so you have to either have dragon, glass, or fur armor to get good warmth ratings
And cold can be deadly, specially for warriors

cooked food now satiated hunger more comfortably, like you can fill an entirely fully hungry character with 4-5 cooked horse meat or cooked venison
there's a lot of option on the cooked food menu but strangely some kind of food does not have unit of hunger satisfaction like apple pie can satiated 200 pts of hunger but meat pie does not have any at all... where raw meat can still have 18 pts of hunger satisfaction

also to point out argonian and khajiit are immune from eating raw meat diet disease debuff

also i'd like to point out that some race has benefit and disadvantages with cc survival mode like in example nords are more resistant to cold whereas argonian are weaker against cold

Hmm fun fact is that apparently survival mode and Frostfall interpret armors differently for instance dragon and glass have an average warmth rate (if I remembered well) in Frostfall. With frostfall I usually end up with Stalhrim in the end.
