Im looking at adding more mods, but I need help with merging please :)

I currently have these mods ( load order from loot) and i want to merge some with zmerge so i can add more as im at my limit XD but i dont know what can & cant be merged, Ill add my load order in the comments :) Thank you in advance :)

You can have a lot more as is without merging .... The LAST normal mod can have the index FD I mean I've without merging 737 extensions (esm/esp/esl/esp-fe) and my last regular esp is FD the rest is all in the FE realm

well all mods have a designation in the load order the last designation is FD (yours is 94) you have 148 normal esps you can have maximum 254 everything with FE doesn't count to that limit

When i look on vortex though, it says 255 mods, so i can ignore that & pay attention to loots list ( so i can have 111 more mods :O )

What our homie SpeedFreak here is trying to say is every plugin that starts with FE index doesn't count towards your load order. Those plugins were flagged by mod authors as either esp-fe or esl for exactly that reason, to save your load order space. So summarize your normal .esm and .esp files minus those that have the FE index, that will be your true load order capacity. If you exceed 255 limit, then start thinking about merging.

ill get counting the FE ones now to work it out XD is there no secret tool to download like loot/vortex to tell me instantly which ones are FE, FD etc? without me having to copy n paste my load order?

Don't know how it works in Vortex personally since I'm a Mod Organizer user, sorry. In MO you can just hover over a plugin and it will show info in a pop up window. There is also various visiual designations.
I think you shouldn't be worrying about your mod limit as of now. I'm sure the game simply won't let you play when you're over 255 plugins. By the first glance at your load order you have plenty of space.

No need to complicate it.
Simple when it comes to the correct number of plugins with Vortex.

Look in the "Plugins" section of Vortex - then upper right hand corner will tell you the correct number of plugins.

(The "Mods" section tells you the total number of Mods)

Also,

Merging is simple BUT when to merge is the real question.

First off never merge until you've hit the plugin limit and never during an ongoing game.
