Unless someone tells me I'm wrong that's just how I believe the process goes.
As it is stated on Nexus page for original Skyrim's DynDOLOD:
"If a texture replacer is used, consider updating LOD textures with TexGen.exe for the load order before running DynDOLOD.exe. It is a simple tool that generates some LOD textures based on the full textures of the current load order."
So we agree.
what I'm speaking to is the new 3.0 DyndoLOD
What you do mean by noise .dds? Is it some overlaying texture or something? Also graphics settings are intentional if i want 60 or close to 60 fps with 1660ti with ENB, flora, trees, etc etc sacrifices have to be made lol. What even pops out to you? Only thing that really is obviously worse to me from medium to ultra is shadows. Objects look great to me due to dyndolod.
(Ah i think i see what you mean dyndolod doesnt get dynamic things like moveable props, npc etc.)
Grab some decent noise.dds. I'm afraid there's nothing more you can do to improve it if you're already struggling with performance. It's just down to distant settings, noise.dds and perhaps xLODGen and TexGen related atlas size. Distant object LOD is covered by DynDOLOD.
May I give you an advice? If that's 3D trees I see on the screenshots I'd suggest you to get rid of them and install Enhanced Vanilla Trees instead. I'd also give up on generating full 3D distant trees and instead generate 2D tree billboards. You'll save up some performance and will be able to bump some settings.
LOD is only really necessary for nice screenshots, or what someone else called in old fart's retirement home thread: Screen Sniping. For general gameplay most of the time you won't notice depending on coverage you have in-game through mods that alter flora.
Putting that aside, using DyndoLOD is harder than it seems, my experience with it in Oldrim was sometimes grim, yet with enough dedication I've always managed to get things rolling, trouble is that if you plan on adding/changing or are insecure about your current LO, it's better to leave LODs for last.
Nah I didnt like some of the ugly weirdly colored trees 3d trees added. I dont use EVT because its vanilla but with massive lag. I dont use Skyrim Flora Overhaul because there is 1 single specific tree in it that bothers me. I am very picky and ended up with:
a little tree mod and Green and Lush Aspen Trees (non lush version ironically). Performance seems good. Only issue is little tree mod i think leaves vanilla stumps and such which sort of look odd since all trees are smaller.
I have used a large portion of the tree mods that are out there and currently like these two.
