Movarth Is Unkillable
The internet says get up on the ledge and shoot him with three orc arrows. I go up on the ledge and drill him with glass arrows from a glass bow. The arrows do maybe 5 percent damage per hit, which he completely heals from before he sits down at the table again.

If I bring in the idiot villager he gets dropped by the first hit. Then he stands next to me with his torch in his hand making it impossible to sneak. My character is level 36, and I'm sure I've dropped the blood sucker in the past at an earlier level.

Never ever ever take an NPC you don't have to.

Have you popped a poison potion?

Any mods like Better Vampires NPCs or Immersive Creatures? Maybe Wildcat Combat?

Edit: I mean if you are dragonborn. Just Fusr Roh Doh his ass and kick em when he's down.

I finally manged to kill off his 2 vampire mistwalkers and his 3 human thralls. Then I dragged in my housecarl. She just stood there while Movarth drilled her with lightning bolts. Fortunately she was unkillable, so Movarth kept drilling her. While he was occupied I managed to hit him about 10 times with my glass arrows, and he finally dropped--crushed by the weight of all the arrows in him.

Archery is just about useless in this game.

sneak archer enhanced with smiting and enchanting is the defacto meta for the game. i dont think ive ever seen a claim archery is useless.

On the contrary, sneak archer is a popular build. It's also extremely over-powered if you have the right perks selected. In the vanilla skill tree, a couple in the first perk under Marksman and up the right to Critical Shot paired with the Sneak perk Deadly Aim can make archery very strong. One thing about sneak archery that is true for any sniper even in real life. Once you have lost the element of surprise, relocate. And don't forget to draw that bow string all the way back. So many fire like they're using an AR-15. :-)

I know it's essentially a meme to play sneak archer, but it's my preferred build in any game. I have never used magic in Skyrim, not even a heal spell. Even on legendary difficulty with a few well used enchants, I have downed a dragon with a single shot. After a surprise shot, it took off from the word wall, circled overhead with no health, and crash dead at my feet.

Dual cast firebolt + impact with a side of fire atronach. He went down quicker than I expected. Needed to isolate and kill his minions first. Going werewolf and steamrolling the whole place also works.

Don't be afraid of hit and run tactics and hit with sneak attacks. weapons that steal health are also useful. Useful when you are still weak

Stealth archer is probably the most effective way to play. As other people say, it's almost a meme by now. What I would say is don't fire your first shot without a poison on your bow. This will stop any enemy healing.
