XWM FILE FORMAT
Does anybody here know how to convert .wav or .mp3 files into the .xwm files for the game?
I have tried ffmpeg. I have tried Yakitori Audio Converter. I have tried Skyrim Audio Converter.
I have tried xWMAEncode. I have tried xWMAEncode by command window. Nothing works, all of them fail, apparently due to a file named, " msvcr100.dll. This file comes from Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 which no longer exists and the 2015 does not have it, nor does Visual Studio 2019 which I have. So, that being said, after hours of trying to convert 1 file to no avail; Does anybody here know how to create an xwm file from and mp3 or wav . My goal is to make replacer MODS for the music, not simply change the music in MY game.

Your assistance is greatly accepted and appreciated.

Have you tried:
Personalized Music - Skyrim Special Edition
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2572

This Oldrim tool also has a 64bit version in the download section
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/8303/?tab=files

I remember a seeing at least 1 or 2 others in Nexus Oldrim mods
my personal fav is multixwm which is in both FO4 and Skyrim SE and do the same thing for both games you can take multiple file types and convert them to xwm and back again in a pretty simple matter

Thank you for the replys. I have read the description for Personalized Music and I apologize, but I don't understand in what way that mod will achieve what i desire. Is this the tool modders use to make music replacer mods for the nexus?

@Silent i have just used multixwm and it says job finished and displays the green bar indicating success, but forgive my ignorance the output folder remains empty

I had remembered seeing this when it first came out and although I have never used this tool, based on your comment

Section 7 caught my eye:
7. CONVERTING YOUR MUSIC TO THE .XWM AND .WAV FORMATS

There are also some links to other similar tools on that page.

This may help you as well.

Thank you again, Vlad. I am going to devote some time to exploring this. Seeing that the xWMAEncode is involved gives me pause because it repeatedly fails to launch due to a missing msvcr100 file. I will post an update after I have exhausted the steps in post #230 by Odyseus77 and continue to welcome input in the meantime

Yes, followed this step totally and again received msvcr100.dll not found .

SOLVED. MULTIXWM is now working perfectly. The msvcr100.dll file was not missing. It is located in the System32 file but was not working properly with xWMAEncode because I had not downloaded DiectX SDK. I downloaded Directx SDK and some aspects claimed to have failed install , but the encoder is working now !

Thank you all

I am going to try, however that failed aspect of the install I mentioned appears to the VCRuntime_140.dll. It is missing now when i try to run nifskope. It is a part of Visual C++ 2015. I need the nif file for the interface of the menu wallpaper. SDK must have overwritten or removed the runtime dll

I dont get this. Do you guys really struggle this much? Isn't a computer supposed to produce known results when known procedures are followed?
