hdt-smp screwing my fps over

Whenever my camera scrolls to my character's front body, my frames always drop and my audio can go distorted, sometimes when I execute killmoves it also lags. I've tried smp reset and it doesn't seem to work, any tips?

If you are not using any clothing mods that absolutely require hdt-smp, you should try switching to CBPC - Physics with Collisions for SSE and VR - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/21224

Even in Oldrim HDT-SMP was problematic - and it is even more so in SSE.

In addition, it may also be related to other mods you have. For that, the best thing to do is to post your sorted load order. To post your load order, just click on the 3 vertical dots in the upper right corner of the LOOT screen, click on copy load order from the drop-down menu, and then paste in the reply box here.

Vortex keeps a .txt version of your mod load order here:
C:\Users\[your name]\AppData\Local\Skyrim Special Edition\loadorder.txt
Find it and then copy and paste it here.

That way, people can take a look and see if anything else could possibly be causing the issue - though, unless someone spots something, you would be forced to troubleshoot the issue yourself (but wait a while before you do - just in case someone does see something). To troubleshoot, see:

And, it is assumed that you have your FPS capped at 60 - which it should be.

There are work-arounds/fixes. Personally I switched back to CBPC a long while ago and have never looked back.

Just hdt-smp or 3bbb or something similar with that?
3bbb and stronger versions of smp are not just an animation engine or whatever.
Those mods try to simulate physics of the character body including gravity pull on breasts and clothed parts of the modified armors/clothes.
Turn off anything stronger than base hdt-smp or modifiy XML files to turn off gravity simulation.
