A Quality World Map - WAY too bright!
Hi,
I asked this problem months ago on the mod's forum but I got no reply, so I try here.

I installed any of the "A Quality World Map" versions and they are all way too bright. I think it is caused by my ENB or weather and lightning mod. (NAT in my case). How can I fix this so I wont have a ugly map? Any ideas?

A sorted load order can be copied and pasted by clicking on the three dots in the
top right corner of loot and clicking copy load order and pasting it in a reply.
He's using Vortex so there is no need to see what Loot has to say as what Loot suggests can be slightly different even though Vortex uses Loot API. We can use either one when it comes right down to it but let's face it, whatever Vortex says is how the game is actually loading.

That's not an order Vortex would give you. Vortex keeps a Loot sorted text copy of your load order here:
C:\Users\[your name]\AppData\Local\Skyrim Special Edition\loadorder.txt

or you can get there directly from Vortex:
in Vortex / while in the "Mods" section / up top choose "Open" (folder icon) / choose "Open Game Application Data Folder" / choose "loadorder.txt /
Follow this advice then, SgtPow3rs.

Ok, but still, Vlad, got you any more leads that fix my problem?
ok but still? How can I help you if you're going to skip what I type by saying "ok but still"?

seeing your Loot sorted load order may or may not help us but we won't know unless we see it. Then there's the fact that what you posted as a load order does not have any reference to A Quality World Map from what I can see unless I'm missing it. The plugin itself contains "icepenguin" in it but you don't have that posted or A Quality World Map, like I said, no reference.

You have to help me out if I'm going to help you. Hope that makes sense.
Ooh ♥♥♥♥ that was not meant to disrepect, I didn't get it I had to copy that loadorder from the text document. Not sure why there are so many orders in that document, here we go.

I've never seen both a calculated and a current load order combined in the Vortex text copy of your load before.

As far as the mods in your load order is concerned. I see you have both NAT and ELFX.
NAT is an interior and exterior and so is ELFX although with ELFX you can choose to use only the interior lighting. ELFX can also do weather. Not sure what you installed there and if you used an ENB or not.

NAT says it's compatible (they even suggest you can switch the two in your load order) but I wouldn't use both together. I see you have NAT first and ELFX after. Did you try switching them?
SgtPow3rs 2021 年 9 月 4 日 上午 2:21
This is what I saw when I opened the diagnostic files from inside Vortex, then the 3 small dots on the top right. I couldn't find a loadorder.txt in the maps.

I installed ELFX months ago, not sure what I did. I don't know yet how I can manually switch mods in Vortex cause they do it for you. I could try to disable ELFX then, but I doubt this will fix the brightness in the map cause Im 85% sure its caused by NAT.

Yea, I use an ENB > CFL II - Cinematic Film Looks for SSE

edit: I uninstalled ELFX and the map is still weird. I disabled the ENB and it didnt affect the map, only the in-game-world itself.

You can to it by following the file path I posted earlier.
Or while you'rein Vortex
and in the "Mods" section
Look up top and you'll see a folder icon
choose "Open"
choose the "Open Game Application Data Folder"
there's the loadorder.txt file

Vortex is pretty straight forward. Sure there's a learning curve just like anything else but it is not a steep learning curve.

You really need to watch a couple of the videos by Gopher who happens to be the best at video tutorials (him and GamerPoets are hands down the 2 best).

Go to the "Video Tutorials" section and watch the first 3 for now. The first one is set up but he really gives some useful info.

Then when you are done go to the section below the tutorials and make sure you can see what you're suppose to see in Vortex.

I watched "VORTEX - Beginner's Guide #4 : Plugins and Load Order" and tried to put the Quality World Map both at early and late loaders in the group section, still very bright. Pff well I will keep trying things, otherwise, I keep it a this brightness.
SpeedFreak1972 2021 年 9 月 4 日 上午 3:21
Odd question do you run the game full screen or Borderless? If you run it borderless try full screen ...

Full screen.

Btw, I couldnt even find any specific load order requirement from the "A Quality World Map" page if thats important.

Generally because there are not that many mods that directly affect the map.

That's not the problem and you shouldn't mess with it load order position but it seems you didn't so good.

There definitely are mods that would have an effect on the map. That said never I mentioned anything about AQWM being the problem.

I did mention mods that could have an effect on Bloom, then there's specularity. The way another mods lighting works is having an effect on your map. That's why there's a patch out for AQWM.

Before we talk about that patch, have you tried turning off your ENB? Usually it's SHIFT + F12 - try that

also, which ENB do you use?

another thing I wanted you to try is swap positions for NAT and ELFX

Now the patch lists the lighting mod "Luminosity" as a soft requirement and many users have reported it fixes the issue you are having with their map using mods other than Luminosity. This mod was designed specifically for the problem you are having.
There's no guarantee it will work but it definitely worth a try. If it does not fix the problem make sure you don't save or have any auto or quick saves then remove it
Luminosity - A Quality Worldmap Compatibility Patch
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/30162

Go through the above slowly - take your time so your load order stays intact.
SgtPow3rs 2021 年 9 月 5 日 上午 10:11
Yea, I have tried turning off and on my ENB to see any difference, my map was still bright when the ENB was off.

I use ENB CFL II - Cinematic Film Looks for SSE.

I uninstalled and removed the Quality World Map cause I couldn't stand it anymore. And I started a new game to use the mod "Legacy of the Dragonborn SSE" so I'm not sure yet if I can install any other mod now.

If so, I will reinstall the World Map and try it with Luminosity.

When you have the time consider trying the map with minimal mods as it could be
another one.
smr1957 2021 年 9 月 5 日 上午 10:25
As to adding mods, unless stated otherwise by the mod author, it is safe to add mods through the course of the playthrough. Just be sure to make a manual save before doing so, just in case you encounter issues and need to roll back.
SgtPow3rs 2021 年 9 月 5 日 上午 11:33
Luminosity didn't work. I stop for now figuring out what it is, the game runs fine and the vanilla map looks ok, atleast not ugly and bright.
