I cant cast spells with my right hand.
Hello I've been having an issue i cant use my right hand to cast spells. More specifically the spells equip to my right hand and when i "ready" my character i can see the spell in her right hand, its when i try and use the spell though it just freezes and nothing happens, its been fine so far as i mostly only use spell wards but NPCs are also having issues and its completely stopped me as I have to have a snow elf man use a spell to open a stairway but his spell is in his right hand and so he just kinda stands there. I've looked around online and found that AKM (advanced kill animations) causes this but I don't have that mod installed and none of the other advice has been helpful so far.

Thank you

First, please post your sorted load order, otherwise we can have absolutely no idea as to what could be causing the issue.

To post your load order, just click on the 3 vertical dots in the upper right corner of the LOOT screen, click on copy load order from the drop-down menu, and then paste in the reply box here.

For Vortex users, Vortex keeps a .txt version of your mod load order here:
C:\Users\[your name]\AppData\Local\Skyrim Special Edition\loadorder.txt
Find it and then copy and paste it here.

It is possible that someone will see something in your load order that may be the specific cause of your issue, but if not, you will have to troubleshoot the issue yourself. To troubleshoot your load order, follow this outline:

Not stepping on smr1957's recommendations.

Definately sounds like an animation issue. Right side gets stuck. Usually happens to me with a dual weapon in offhand and swapping directly to shield or torch. I have to do an unequip/reequip to get it going again.

I definately see it with falmer with shields (shields are invsiable).

The problem is, that is not showing the sorted order - and if that is the sorted order, then it is really not sorted properly. For example, the initial load order, when properly sorted, should be as follows:

Skyrim.esm
Update.esm
Dawnguard.esm
Hearthfires.esm
Dragonborn.esm
[any Creation Club master-flagged ESLs you may have]
Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch.esp
[The rest of your mods]

Though having Lanterns of Skyrim load just before the Unofficial Patch should not cause any issues.

Also, the .esp for Realistic Water Two (NOT the .esm) should be loaded at the very bottom of the load order, after just about every other mod, as so many mods have water records built in, that if they load after Realistic Water, they will overwrite the changes, thus causing seams.

So, if at all possible, please try and post the sorted load order as described in the very first post.

It should go skyrim, update, dlcs, creations, USSEP, then all other mods.
I can't remember where skse goes.

SKSE has no plugin. As to sorted, if it was sorted, all the master files and the cc content and USSEP would already be in the proper places. If you have to move them around, then it is not sorted. To sort it, you need to run LOOT, or use Vortex's built in version of LOOT to sort it.

Oh deer...
Loot is a utility for ordering your mods so that they don't conflict and some other
important stuff.
It is included in vortex and can be installed independently too.
Edit: also loot sorts your mods to.

Ah, okay. Well, the best thing right now is to start from the beginning - LOOT stands for Load Order Optimization Tool. It is used to sort mods into the proper order, for if not sorted properly, you will encounter all sorts of issues. A version of LOOT is also built into the mod manager Vortex - and use of a mod manager is essential for modding. Right now, the best thing you can do is to just scrap that build completely (I know that that sounds harsh and over the top, but believe me, that is the best thing for you to do) But, fiest things first - do a clean install by following this vid exactly - omitting nothing:
https://youtu.be/g67CnHD1wvY

Omce you have done that, I strongly recommend that you follow this guide - it is currently the best guide there is:

VERY IMPORTANT if you wish to successfully mod your game

Also, refer to this (PINNED TOPIC) resource for links to guides, tutorials, vids, and other important information - more a compendium to be browsed through composed of links to various topics that are important and which may be of interest and help:
HELPFUL LINKS AND REFERENCES

Finally, start small - just add a few mods at a time, test, and then play for a while to ensure there are no issues - don't fall into the trap of adding a bunch of mods and then trying to play. And, very important!!! For most mods, once they are added, they cannot be removed and play continued on that save - you have to roll back to a save made before that removed/disabled mod was installed, or start a new game - absolutely no ifs, ands, or buts about it. So make sure you make a manual save before adding anything, and save often (manually) while playing, so you can roll back to a previous save if necessary. (For why you cannot remove/disable mods midplaythrough, see: You CANNOT Remove Mods Mid-Playthrough - http://steamcommunity.com/app/489830/discussions/0/1520386297681801135/ )

If you have any questions, or are unsure of something, just ask in the forum first - it is easier to prevent a problem than it is to fix one - especially where Skyrim is concerned

ONE MORE THING: It can, at times, be confusing to determine whom to listen to on these forums, especially for someone new. In the pinned topic Helpful Links and References, see Section 6, Miscellaneous - Reliable Forum Regulars, for a list and explanation.

To summarize, do all that the guide by Vlad says to do, and if you have questions, ask as needed - Both Vlad and myself are here for you, as are many others.
