Help, I lost my husband!

So I married Onmund a while back and every once in a while I use him as a companion as well. I was doing a random small quest in a mine, but when I left the mine, Onmund was gone. I figured he'd show up again after a few days, especially after fast travel, but he didn't.

So then I figured he was dead, but I never got a courier with my inheritance. (I really hope he isn't dead btw because I only later learned you can't remarry.)

Well, then I figured I'd try some commands to see if I can locate him. I tried to bring him to me, but I kept getting 'compiled script not saved'. Tried resurrecting him (in the chance he was dead), but also didn't work. So I logged off and went to bed.

Just now I logged back in, and lo and behold, Onmund was there, but... he was on his back, and the only conversation available was that one about nords in the college. So none of the husband or follower options.

I hoped fast travel would fix it, but he didn't come along. Then I traveled back to where I left him, but he was gone.

Tried another command, the player.moveto one. Script moved me to Onmund's room in the college, but he isn't actually there.

Help! What is going on? Have I lost my husband? Is he a ghost? Is he a bug? Any way to fix this?

I think Brelyna Maryon got jealous and now she's pulling some kind of trickery. J'zargo is probably in on it too.

To make matters more confusing: I tried player.moveto again, and now Onmund was in his room... but not my husband anymore! *cry* No conversation options to do with marriage.

I put my amulet of mara on to see if I can marry someone else, but no, that's also not the case. What is going on! Why does Onmund not want to be married anymore :'(

I think you panicked and started using console commands and fudged your game. Reload a save before all this happened.

Probably the best course of action if possible. Console commands can be dangerous af if you're altering important stuff like that.

I'll try, but my saves keep disappearing so I might just have lost my husband :(

Nope, doesn't work. For some reason my saves are always saves 001-005, and then the last 4 quick/autosaves. Everything in the middle just disappears.

You tried teleporting him to you right? I feel like maybe that could have made the system funk up and glitch out.

Yeah might've done.
This sucks, I now have to live unmarried or start all over >:(

Load an old save to where they're with you
Open console with `
Left click on them once (Your spouse)
Exit Console

Go menu and then load in your main/latest save
Once loaded, open up console
Type "moveto player"

As for your problem with your saves disappearing, go to main menu. Click on Load Game, and check how many characters there are, it might be saving but under a different character/profile due to the mods that you're adding.

Just me and 'Prisoner', which is the starter. I don't know what's going on here :(

I've never actively added mods, but I am using the Special Edition, not sure if some mods are automatically included?

Are you making manual saves or are you relying on quicksave and auto save? If you're relying on quick/auto save then these automatically delete and over-ride your previous saves. It won't help you here :( but for the future always make manual saves at regular points in your game.

to give non essential npcs chance for survival is to give them some ultimate healing potions. or you can do console command like: setessential 1c194 1 or mods.
