[Mods] Okay I'm done with Realistic Lighting Overhaul. What's better?
Title says it all. Can someone recommend something with moody (but still functional) lighting? Lots of them seem overly bright.

The great thing about RLO is, no fps busting.

If you don’t mind the headache there’s ENBs, but they are a pain to get adjusted right so they don’t eat up fps.

If areas are to dark in RLO there is a small lantern mod that just takes a press of L key to activate. You can adjust the light level of the lantern.

you can always go for relighting skyrim: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/8586 or enhanced lights and fx: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2424 that said what's better dunno it's also a personal preference

do light yourself. you will not regret it. just dont bother with this mods. download CK or SSEEdit and decrease light illumination or place light where is missing and there is tons of places like Solitude...do it in balance way or you will have a flicker issue

Yeah I did some experimenting and finally settled on Relighting Skyrim and Luminosity. I then used Vivid Weathers options to darken interiors and night. Finally I had to get a patch for the better quality map to not make it blindingly bright. But maybe I'll go check out that "simply darker" mod too. Either way, if anyone else is interested, Relighting+Luminosity+Vivid Weathers seems to do the job well.

ELEFX with ENB (just a name, there is no ENB) is more saturated but darker than RLO. If you want something brighter but with more contrast, try ELEFX standalone.

i have said goodbye to all lighting mods. they cause more problems than they help.

my life has become more relaxed since then because i no longer have to search forever for compatibility patches and their corresponding compatibility patches for compatibility fixes...
