They have always looked the same in my games.
you can disable/enable your enb with shift+f12
So i can confirm it's not a result of the enb
I feel like this would be such a weird thing to be missing from vanilla SE O_o but it's Bethesda, so anything's possible
It might just have been my old computer, my current one can't do gaming, so I do Skyrim on my PS4.
I can confirm i've seen the glow in LE, on PC, but it was heavily modded. I might boot up my old comp and run it vanilla to see if the lil bastards glow.
I also played Oldrim on ps3, and i feel like i remember the glowing... but i could be wrong =/
In the meantime, i found a mod that does this, located here;

I feel like this is an awesome thing to have in this game, cause not knowing if you've harvested an egg... sac or whatever, is annoying at best, and very time consuming at worst.
