dead-end in Wolfskull Cave
This is a new issue for me; I've played Skyrim SE sooo many times, and Wolfskull Cave 'just worked'... but this time, for some reason, there seems to simply be a dead end in the cave, and I can't reach the inner chamber where all the action is!!

I've already gotten the quest to check out the cave. I enter the cave, come to the place where the cave splits, one way goes down to a room with a bandit in it, the other climbs up to a ledge above that same room. From there, another passage leads to a small room, with a short tunnel to a treasure chest, but that is *it* ... no other ways to proceed. The map shows a quest marker further in, but there's no way to reach it!!

Has anyone else seen this?? I've no idea what is going on...

Skyrim version 1.5.97.0.8, SKSE64 V 2.0.19 rel 6

Maybe this...

If you are sent to Wolfskull Cave as part of a radiant quest (such as Shalidor's Insights), you will not be able to complete the radiant quest while The Man Who Cried Wolf is active. You will need to first finish The Man Who Cried Wolf and wait for the dungeon to reset.

No, I came here as a part of The Man Who Cried Wolf; afaik, there were no other quests active that involved this location (though, of course, I had many quests active, so maybe there was overlap that I didn't know about).

Anyway, it turns out that other people have experienced this issue in the past - mostly *years* in the past, but the solution there worked for me:

"found it... somehow the hole was sealed with ice.. I actually had to cheat (with tcl) and float through the floor. Then I was able to finish the quest. "

So this issue has been resolved.

Just an FYI, You can enter the cave prior to the Man Who Cried Wolf and it will have bandits instead of necros and undead (As well as a treasure chest to the left of the blocked pit). When doing the Potema Quest, that chest will be gone.

I usually hit it prior to starting the quest to get a shot at loot.

Follow up. Does anyone elses companions not come in with them (Either before or during quest). They will show up in the next area but not the first one.
