Hi y’all, I’m trying to join the TG, I do what Brynjolf asks, the ring thing, collecting the 3 debts, then he tells me to follow him to the cistern and he attacks me when I enter, or he’s nowhere to be found and the others in the cistern attack me. I’m not sure what to do. Thoughts?

Although Skyrim is an unstable game and everyone's load order tends to be a different and not all bugs are the same, I can attest I fixed my Mom's game without consequence by simply adding her to the TG Cistern faction when this same scenario popped up.

I am at work right now but I will look it up when I get home if I remember. The TG is known for having a few nasty bugs in the base game, that is one of them. But my Mom did not seem to have any problems after I applied the "fix"

Make a save prior to entering any console command so you can roll back in case it doesn't work. The command is:

player.addfaction 0010A794 4

Note: the number at the end indicates the level of relationship rank (1 being hated and 4 being loved).

Create a manual save, enter the code while in the Ragged Flagon, then interact with Brynjolf & follow him to the Cistern.

If he teleports somewhere else and the guild members attack, It is most definitely a mod issue.

They think you attacked or killed someone listed as friendly.
Maybe check if any npcs are missing.
