What do you do if your NPCs die?
I don't mean companions, or ppl dying through a dragon attack,
I mean traders like Belethor or Eorlund simply diappearing. It annoys me so much if the traders don't open anymore because of this

Do you use mods?
Because there are mods for that.

I use mods, but none to prevent npcs from dying

Can't remember the name of the mod I use that accomplishes this for the life of me. Too many to look thru and I think that feature is included in as one of many features.

BUT

If I was to make a new mod list today I would probably use this (I used it in oldrim).

Run For Your Lives

^This has them get the hell out of there and go indoors if a dragon or vampire attacks.

not to mention the fact that it's made by Arthmoor.

If an NPC "simply disappears", I use player.moveto <refID> through the console to find out where they are. May well turn out that they're alive but stuck on a rock or something.

If they're dead, I'll typically reload to an earlier save (if you're only keeping one then you're doin it rong!). Especially with vendors, there's no guarantee that they'll return to their normal operations if you attempt to resurrect them.

The stop NPCs from dying in the first place I use No More Redshirts,[www.nexusmods.com] which leaves nothing to chance.

Can I install this mod midplaythrough?

Both Run For Your Lives and No More Redshirts can be used mid-playthrough, yes.

Run For Your Lives has handled dragon related deaths for me for years...gonna check out No More Redshirts for NPC deaths related to Cultist attacks near villages / farms.

The only other way NPC's have died on me was when I turned off the game's VSYNC and turned on Nvidia's...had an NPC load in too high in the air and she fell to her death...had to revert the settings and go back to an earlier save. No...I did not get to see it...just happened upon the body in Whiterun.
