If I remember right, it might help to do the following:
Go into your Documents folder, then My Games, then Skyrim Special Edition. There's a file there named SkyrimPrefs.ini which informs the game of your setup and so forth. Move the SkyrimPrefs.ini file into a safe place just in case, anywhere out of the Skyrim Special Edition folder, then launch Skyrim SE via the .exe (will be in your Steam directory) to run the Bethesda launcher, so it's able to correctly register your graphics setup. Be sure to double check your quality settings are where you like/need them to be, and continue into the game. That should prompt the creation of a new, accurate SkyrimPrefs.ini file where the old one was.
It also sounds similar to the flashing save games bug in a way, but I think the engine fixes should've taken care of that - might be worth looking into, though
The zooming ping pong was caused by my mouse's key-binding software. For some reason, it would occasionally change the mouse wheel to scroll like 10+ lines per tick instead of the usual 1, so it just went nuts every time I tried to zoom in/out. Skyrim was the only game, or program at all for that matter, where I saw that happen. Wherever your mouse settings are, you should be able to double check if that's the issue.
I wish I had more of an abc type solution for you but it's our beloved Bethesda, after all. Hopefully the rambling helps or puts you on the right track in some way. Good luck!
Im just playing on a laptop, but could it be because the game doesnt recognize my graphics card? Ill see if deleting the prefs ini helps but i dont think it will
It didnt work, but I changed my Nvidia settings to make sure skyrim uses the right graphics card, and its still messed up but slightly better for some reason. Ill try to fix the drivers, ill let you know if it doesnt work
Okay so I looked at my mouse/ touchpad driver and all I see is "Elan I2C filter driver" I tried downloading the touchpad drivers from the manufacturers website and installing them but they didnt show up in device manager after being installed. I dont know why
Can't say for sure but it was actually around the time the issue cleared up for me...
Check for any mouse hardware smoothing/acceleration settings for your comp if you keep having the pov craziness. There looks to be a possible fix in another .ini file but I'd have to link you to someone more knowledgeable for that, since it involves adjusting some game stuff and I wouldn't wanna typo something that messed up your files :)
Okay, Ill do that :)
