Switch version grossly overpriced
I'm all for a portable Skyrim, but I'm deeply shocked that Bethesda is charging $60 for a six-year old game. Even with all DLCs it's not worth it at all. I asked a GameStop employee about the price when I bought the Switch (and for the record I haven't bought Skyrim for it because I have it on my PC), and he told me it was because the cartridges are expensive to produce. And yet somehow a digital copy for the Switch still costs the same price?

Bethesda has earned much of my respect over the years. They're a wonderful company but they've really taken some stumbles recently. I just hope they don't turn into EA.

Blame Nintendo, they've been ripping people off for as long as they've been making consoles.

i am not sure its bethesda keeping that price up, nintendo is sure to take a piece of that cake too.

Thats at least partially Nintendo but in any case its not unexpected. Besides Switch users should pay more. Why would you ever play Skyrim on Switch except to play it on the go which I can replicate with a laptop.

They also pass the cost of porting it over to the consumer.

Gamestop workers just make stuff up.

Gamestop? Where do you think we are? Gamestop is the company that will give you only 48 bucks for a prime ps3 slim but will sell it to the guy behind you for 200 after stuffing it in a gamestop brand cardboard box.
It's about the same price as the other major games for the switch, given they have to pass a portion onto Nintendo, I'm guessing that's at least 50% of the pricing issue. There are cheaper games out there, but they are smaller and have no support what so ever, while Skyrim should get patches for some issues, which expplains the rest of the pricing.

Also to be fair, it was the same price when they launched skyrim on Xbox and Playstation earlier this year. If you thinks that's unfair, then save up, buy both Zenimax (who own Bethesda) and Nintendo, and set your own prices. :steammocking:

That's something new: crying over the price of a video game.

I love the switch and think it’s a great console, but I would never buy Skyrim on it, or any game that I could get on Steam.

Cloud saves, achievements, high FPS on Steam/PC. Nintendo needs to catch up, AT LEAST with the cloud saves. It needs to be a standard, there isn’t an excuse.

$60 for the base game plus 3 DLCs isn't that bad honestly... not to mention, as has been said, that's the price for SE anyways. It's (slightly) cheaper than buying Oldrim with the DLCs seperately too, and you get an updated version to boot.

Bought a Switch just to play Zelda and Skyrim. To me $60 for these games was well spent for all the hours I'll be playing them. Both games run and look great also. Gonna get Bayonetta 1 and 2 when they come out in feburary and maybe RE Revelations with Christmas gift cards.

Vanilla Skyrim is an ugly grey game. It needs modded to look good, so I don't see how you can say it looks great. Its 6 years old now too, which makes it even more dated.

They know many Switch users never played Skyrim if all they buy are Nintendo consoles... so they can sell it full price as a new game to get people for as much as possible.
